gotta love how the colors are brighter, the textures are a lot more detailed, yet the N64 feeling still remains.. such a marvelous work

@shabby329 A game can forever look as awful as it wants when its beauty shines in gameplay.

@shabby329 I think there's a charm to the ugliness of games of like Cruis'n USA. They're all very sharp to the jaggy-weary Wii player.

I was hoping they would do something about the "bunny ears" hair on adult link. :(

Go 90's I guess.

Did they make the textures and lighting better? Because this looks better than I remember.

@TraceurRyuk Part III

I think they'd be crazy if they didn't at least improve it a little. Since it's a port rather than emulation, they'll be able to tweak it to make it look better while retaining the original game's feel. If you compare super mario 64 on the N64 & DS, you'll see quite a few little changes in textures and model work.

I loved doing the water temple without the water tunic. Keeping a fairy or two kept me from drowning every time.

On my last playthrough, I somehow managed to forget to pick up the blue tunic... Made the Water Temple a bit tedious IMO. Still think Inside the Well and the Shadow Temple are the worst, though.

Boot-swapping will be much smoother since your inventory is now displayed on the bottom screen. No more having to pause to go into an inventory screen!

Could you run RE: Mercenaries/Revelations on an N64? Or Street Fighter 4?

The 3DS is way more powerful than an N64, and it's more powerful than a PSP and GameCube.

I understand when people complained about having to keep equiping/unequiping the Iron boots alot but I never found it that annoying.

In fact, the water temple and the spirit temple were my favorites in OoT. I remember how I admired the dungeon layout back then mapping the thing in my head while beating it. After I finished it, I went over to a friends house who was not as far into the game and I was like "You won't believe this, Zelda has the first water level in video game history to not suck!". Two days later he got stuck in that temple and kept raging about how much it sucked...

@sparkster I don't remember any temples giving me trouble.. then again this was the day and age of Player's Guides. But I do remember my cousin (who is about 20 years older than me) calling me about getting stuck in a room with moving platforms in the Fire Temple. He called me asking how to jump. -_-

Wow does the texture look nice. Brings so much memory.

Now all we need is a RELEASE DATE!

Will buy the 3DS when this game rolls around. Really looking forward to this. Will keep me busy for a while re-beating this game.

I quit playing OoT when I first had it because of that temple, but flew right through it years later when I got the gamecube version. Guess I was too young and stupid to figure it out.

Good to see that the shops all have textures and aren't pre-rendered anymore, though that was a given since there weren't any pre-rendered areas in Majora's Mask.

I'm concerned... I REALLY want to play this but...

I'm blind in one eye, I lack depth perception. I wonder if the 3D settings wouldn't work with my visual handicap.

@Misguided Terran, Hey, I feel ya, I have 20/150 in my left eye so I probably won't be able to see 3D all that well either, but regardless, I'm getting a 3DS anyway. Why? Because it's freakin' awesome!

@Misguided Terran as far as i know, the 3D MIGHT still work, i went to see Clash of the Titans in 3D and had to scratch one eye, and the 3D still worked even with one eye open.

You could try finding someone with a 3DS or play on one from a demo stand.

Really doubt it will matter, especially with a game like Zelda. I don't have stereo vision (side-effect of failed squint operation when I was a baby; both eyes still work, just I don't really see 3d). Still preordered 3DS. I'll be setting the depth slider to 'off' and there we go...

There might be a few games where the 3d will be part of gameplay, like I'm thinking maybe baseball games and stuff like that where you have to spot where the ball is depthwise, but I doubt it'll be common.

I'm getting depressingly tempted by this Zelda remake (note: I never played the original; played the GC bonus disc a bit but got tired of it because the controls etc sucked compared to Wind Waker, obviously not being designed for GC controller). I pretty much have a rule not to buy old games (especially old 3d games), but it kind of looks like they're making a fair bit of effort at updating this one...

Wow, so the graphics are improved and 3D is not the only appealing factor, but I think I'll pass until next year to get a 3DS.

Also, only until my 4th playthrough I manged to memorize every location of all that damn keys in that temple.

IMO this update looks terrible. They took 1998 graphics and mildly updated them to say 2000 graphics? Now, I loved the game and would be harder than a pedophile at a Jonas Brothers concert for an OoT remake robust with stunning, state of the art visual overhauls and a fully orchestrated soundtrack, but judging by these screens there's not enough incentive to buy a new 3DS copy when I have an N64 sitting in my closet ready to be played.

It's always confusing when people get down-voted simply for voicing an opinion that's dissimilar to someone else's. It's not like I said "People who think this looks great are child molesters" or even the face-palm inducing "fan-boy" comment; rather, I stated my honest feedback.

Furthermore, I didn't go through and reply critically to every positive comment. We all have differing opinions and mine is that I think Nintendo could've done a much better job with this update. They could've at least updated the sprites into rendered objects (see Epona ranch screenshot).

People are excited for this game and that's fine, more power to them for having something to look forward to, I'm just not one of them and that should be okay too, especially since I provided a reason why.

@mcnerven It's because your opinion sucks. Who the hell cares if the graphics are 2000 (it's not)? It's still Ocarina Of Time, a game considered to be one of the best, in 3D, and portable.
