Yeah, too bad the game isn't fluid enough to be as enjoyable as previous entries. Say what you want about Modern Warfare 2, but the gameplay felt natural, and the framerate wasn't terrible. I still like Black Ops, but I haven't put nearly as much time on it as the other ones.

I agree with you. In addition to the fluidity, the maps were the other thing that didn't hold my interest. My friends and I have different opinions on it, but I personally don't think Treyarch makes good maps. I played BO for a week and felt like I've overstayed my welcome.

3arc needs to fix the matching . i played today and there is still dead lobbies :( MW/MW2/WAW i would be in one lobby for hours but with BO EVERY dam game i have to find a new lobby or my team is stuck hunting down one player for 10 fu#king mins :(

Does anybody have advice on how to get better at this game? Before this week, I'd never played a COD game before, and even after about 10 hours of online play, my ratio on TDM is still hovering around 0.43.

@DBrim Not the most exciting advice, but playing the combat training a lot helps you get to know levels better and, more importantly, helps you get better at getting your sights on the enemy quickly.
Skip the TDM on combat training, and do free for all against eight or nine bots, set the max score to 100 kills (or, I guess, 5000 points or whatever), and the time to unlimited. Start with Nuketown or a smaller map, and then go to bigger maps. When you're winning with 100 kills and 10 - 30 deaths, up the skill level.
I really enjoy TDM a lot, and doing the above helped move me from someone who usually got a 0.80-0.90 kill ratio to someone who is usually in the 1.25 - 2 ratio, along with just playing more.
For perks and weapons, it really varies by how you play (I like to cautiously run and gun, if that makes any sense), but here's what I've settled on:
Perks: Lightweight, Sleight of Hand, and Marathon (Pro in the first two, but not the third because I dislike CTF).
Weapons: I like the Famas because of the rate of fire, but you will burn through ammo so get good at picking up a decent second weapon. The Enfield is a nice choice as well. Remember that when you do, you're pretty vulnerable.
Attachment: Red dot or dual mags for a super fast reload
Equipment: claymore
Lastly, one really bad habit I had for a while was looking a little bit downward when I ran. Keep on eye and where you're looking because looking too up or down while moving increases the time it takes to aim at someone.

I /would/ be totally original and say I'll be too busy playing (insert preferred game instead) because I don't like COD:BOPS because of (insert complaint) but I see a few have beat me to the punch, yet again, so instead I'll simply note that I'm looking forward to the double XP after work. I'd like to note as well that I harbor no animosity towards anyone who prefers some other game over BOPS. As that is a prerogative we all share. I'm enjoyin Discovery and Arena quite a bit. Still getting the hang of Kowloon and Berlin Wall though.

Now that PS3 peep's have the new map pack - I hope Treyarch announces the next map pack. However, I fear they will do something sheer stupid and announce it's dropping a week or two before Duke Nukem Forever, at which point it will be too late for me. Once the new Duke drops, there will be no other FPS games on my console until Duke Nukem 5 :)
