You see, it's infrequent but deals like this that make me wait, rather than losing $60+
NOW do you see the markup? $60 2 months ago, and now less than 50%... wake up peeps. In this economy, $60 is now a tank of gas.
Yay for deals and Amazon!!!

@MassDragonEffectAge It's not infrequent at all, actually. I decided, 3 years ago when Halo 3 "Super cat Helmet Edition" came out, to stop buying so-called "limited" editions because they're too expensive and are, these days, never, EVER really very limited at all. 6 months later I got Halo 3 SCHE, brand new, for $37 at Microcenter.
I did the same for the CE of God of War III (and by the way, there's nothing "high end" about its Pandora's Box replica--it's cheap garbage), and 5 months after it released I bought it for $40 at fry's.
I waited on Beatles Rock Band--and got it for $7.50 at Target.
In the past 3 years, I've basically waited on all but 2 or 3 titles (and I should have waited on those), and in EVERY instance I found them for between $10 and $30 just a very few months later, some even sooner.
End result: I no longer pay $59.99+ for games, EVER, even for the so-called "limited" editions (by limited, I've noticed, they mean "we'll stop making them when you stop buying them"), which unlike the old days, aren't limited anyway.

Mathematically, you're correct. If you wait, prices will drop. By that same logic though, trade-in values also drop in time. I bought Fable 3 brand new at $40, played it for a whole week+ (3 complete playthroughs), and traded it back in for $40. Net: $0.

Also, in the UK if you buy Gold through the dashboard you can get a free disk game (Fable 3 is advertised)

I haven't subscribed to LIVE in a long time, so that might explain this... my dashboard had a banner on it asking me to subscribe to LIVE for 20% off and I'd also be mailed a game of my choice: Halo Reach, Fable III or various Kinect games.
So if you're in my situation it might be worth checking out the dashboard. It's something like $50 for a year of Gold and a pretty new game.

Is fable 3 worth a purchase?

I liked Fable 1 the best, but since it's an original Xbox game, the thing kept crashing on me near the end, so YMMV. Fable 2 kept most of what was great about Fable 1, so you might try that one. Fable 3 stripped away some stuff that I missed, but it has its merits as well, but I'd say, try Fable 2 first.

Or you could just renew on Xbox Live dashboard and get a free game disc of Fable 3, Halo Reach (pretty sure it was Halo Reach), or one of two Kinect games (I think Kinectamals was one) sent to you.
However, that might be Canada only, but it's been on my dashboard for a week now.
