I have heard that unlike classic Jack, the questions and the jokes in this new Jack, are not randomized . . . even the DisOrDats are in the exact same order. Even if you play online, everything is exactly the same as offline, leading people playing online to create cheat sheets while offline, to use for cheating when playing online. Can anyone verify this?
If true, this certainly would not only kill the replayability of YDKJ (which is a shame, as I used to play classic Jack on PC, over and over again, back in the day), but take away a lot of the fun and spontaneity. It also may explain why the price of this game keeps dropping. I could have swore that it launched for $40 just a few months back, and it's already down to just $20.

It launched at $29.99 everywhere, which is a great launch price for this type of game. its always nice when a developers recognizes an appropriate price point.

A few things:
1) No they aren't randomized, but that is to create a more fluid game, like in The Ride. Replayability won't be hurt unless you go through all 60+30DLC games every week.
2) Yes people online cheat, but I wouldn't see the value of playing a trivia game like this online, ever. Unless it's the first time everyone sees the question, there will always be cheaters. This is meant to be played next to friends with a round of beers.
3) It launched at $30, so it's not a big drop. It's was definably worth $30, and you can't pass it up at $20 if you liked any of the other YDKJ games.

It is true, but:
1) This way, you know which episodes you've already played, and hence which questions you've done. You won't run into duplicate questions without knowing about it ahead of time.
2) They're able to have inter-question connections and stuff, such as a story arc about Cookie trying to set up a party, and having the dialogue and questions revolve aorund that.
3) If you're playing with random people online, you're playing it for the wrong reasons. You're playing it to have a good time with your friends.
4) It actually launched at $30, not $40. Great price for 73 episodes (10 questions including a dis-or-dat, plus a jack attack) that take 15 minutes apiece to go through with friends. Plus, they've already got 3 DLC packs on the go, at $5 apiece for 10 episodes if you run out.
Did you like You Don't Know Jack back in the day? Yes? Then get this, because it's just as good as it was, if not, better.

Anyone who's ever played Buzztime Trivia in a bar knows that it can be fun to play trivia games against strangers and try to make the national leaderboard. My GF and I played Buzztime twice this week alone, and last night we came in #40 and #86 nationally on one game.
But that's only available in bars. I wish that there were a game like that available for Xbox Live, because we'd play even more if we could (going out gets expensive). I was excited when I heard YDKJ would have online play. But the non-random episodes make it useless for online play, and I think they might as well have just left that part out. Also, a trivia game with only 700-800 questions is really kind of sad by most trivia game standards.
That said, even with just the two of us playing, it's still a bargain at $30, a steal at $20. We bought it in hopes that they'll produce more episodes and maybe even another sequel.

Cool, I guess I will get it. Oh wait, it's still $30 in Canada. I guess it is too much to ask for equality....

We get $10 less on games, you have 10,000,000 less murders a year. I'd call that an even trade.

Where I'm from we pay double for games and only have 5,000,000 less murders :( not fair!

Worth the $30 I paid for it a week ago. Great fun with a group of friends, as long as none of them are assholes that just tap the A button over and over during the Jack Attacks :P

I really want to import this game, but if it's as good as seems, not being able to download any future DLC would pretty much kill any joy I had.
Wish Jellyvision would just give us in the Oceania region the same game, without any concerns about localization. Seems as though the pop culture is popular enough that we'd have an idea of what's going on.

So..which is the best platform? It's, like, YDKJ, so I'm assuming it's not pushing the 360 or PS3, but I'm curious how the Wii version holds up? And how does DLC work for the Wii? I know a lot more people with Wii's than anything else, so while I generally don't prefer to get my games on the Wii, something that I might want to bring around to play with others might be a smart Wii purchase.

they should at least have the option to have a randomized game like the old one along with the episodes

Was a big fan of the series back in the day when I was in middle school. Hell, the uncensored version is responsible for expanding my vocabulary and making it more colorful.
A friend bought this and we just played it with a full group for hours. Great stuff, reminded me of why I loved the original, even if it has some drawbacks.

Terrific game but online play seems to lag from time to time - very frustrating during the Jack Attack. Also agree that there are cheaters online - telling when they answer the question before Cookie reads all the answers. And who the heck wins over ninety (some one hundred) percent of their games? Still, the "wrong answer of the game" is a cool wrinkle, so buy it now there's a lower price.
