Castle Crashers, Dead Nation and more discounted for PSN Spring Fever

PlayStation Network users recently had the opportunity to vote on their favorite of the platform's offerings as part of the PSN Gamers' Choice Awards -- the winners of which would be up for a 30 percent discount (50 percent for PlayStation Plus members). The winners were recently revealed:

Best PS3 Downloadable Game -- Castle Crashers (Sale price $10.49, Plus price $7.50)
Best PSP Downloadable Game -- God of War: Ghost of Sparta (Sale price $27.99, Plus price $20.00)
Best PS3/PSP mini -- Age of Zombies (Sale price $3.49, Plus price $2.50)
Best PlayStation Network Exclusive Game -- Dead Nation (Sale price $10.49, Plus price $7.50)

The offers go into effect today to kick off the PSN Spring Fever promotion, and will be available until March 14. Other games will be marked down in the following weeks as the promotion continues -- we'll make sure to let you know when another price gets unceremoniously slashed!

@Dizazter IS Dead Nation patched yet? I wanna play it more, Voice chat will make it so much better.

It's supposed to be, I'll check it tonight. But yeah I played through the campaign once, and was waiting for voice chat to do coop.

Can we please get cross game voice chat already FOR THE LOVE OF GOD?

Those were almost the ones I voted for. Scott Pilgrim lost, and apparently it was an extremely tight race between that and Castle Crashers.

@Dizazter Ahh, Okay. Glad its done. Those checkpoint saves are going to make the game much more enjoyable.

I can finish it now without having to play for ages at a time.

Yeah Scott Pilgrim is a good one too. I feel like I got SP on sale on too long ago? Oh wait, that's right I got the discount with PS+, nvm.

I was waiting for Dead Nation to discounted so i can buy it. Now I can :D

I am very tempted to pick up either Castle Crashers or Dead Nation. I've heard great things about both and I'm not sure which I'd rather get. Possibly Castle Crashers because I'm a little tired of the zombie overload in games

Is this US only? I'm guessing so by the dollar signs..

Im willing to buy Castle Crasher. Anyone can tell me:

* How is the online MP. Do you need having people with the game on your friends list or this game has matchmaking?
* How healthy is the community?
* Is still many people playing this game online?

I dont remember having any friend with the game, so I will be very sad if I cant get to play this game online just because I dont have friend with this game.

I signed up for PS+ a bit ago just to try it out, and I'm not sure I'm going to keep it. If I buy Castle Crashers now, does anyone know if I will have to re-purchase a license to the game at full price or if they will just ask me to pay the difference. I'd rather just buy the game at the normal sale price now, but I'm not sure how.

Anything purchased (ie you pay addnl $) with a PS+ discount remains yours even after you end PS+. Or so I recall hearing. Dont have it myself...

They've said that any game that you pay any amount of money for (i.e. not a free game) you'll be able to keep whether or not you renew.

@tylerh1701 Hmm, looks like I definitely need to do some research on this. It is remarkably difficult to find an answer to this question from any official sources.

@ObiAlKenobi Hey, no need to get snippy. Turns out I was just googling poorly. I kept trying stuff like "buy game playstation plus price" and ending up at discussions of the merits of PS+ or lists of weekly discounts. I did some further googling later and did come up with that page you linked to, so I'm feeling more secure in actually paying for stuff with a PS+ discount.

Dead Nation? Oh wow, definitely there.

I hope the dead nation discount makes its way over to UK psn this afternoon

God of War "best PSP game"? Really?

People don't seem to understand hwat is a great portable game.
