That should keep you busy for about 3 minutes. What about the other 10 hours and 57 minutes?

@poopdedoop I'm going to do something really naughty and plug into the first so people can see it:

Playstation Blog Europe claims that if you log in before the maintenance start you should still be able to play online.

+ Tweet from @Playstation "PSN will undergo maintenance until 5pm Pac. This will affect the Store & Account Mgmt, though gameplay should be unaffected"

And the time in Europe will be ?

Would be nice to include the rest of us, unless Joystiq is a US specific website ?

I've got a better idea, instead of the US foreign policy starting and ending at the Mexican border why not consider the rest of the world when making statements that involve all PS3 users instead of expecting those that live outside the land of flee and the home of the slave to do a Phd on world time zones.

Joystiq just happens to be a humour filled website, don't worry, it threw me off for a second too, but i hate how it always ends up at prime time in the UK :( plus DA2 doesn't come out til friday :( :(

@UrbanManc No idea what you thought RedViv meant... But that post was explaining that they did in fact give GMT. I imagine 'Albion' was more Fable- than history- related; either way there's nothing wrong with a bit of humour.

Wow dude, I don't watch foreign movies and bitch about them not speaking English. Maybe when you're on an American website, you can get over the fact that they don't tell you the time at which the network will be down in every single place on the world.

You know I didn't even realize that it has gmt there. I just saw est and stopped looking. I just know that to get gmt you add 5 hours and for most of europe you add 6 hours.

but yeah that idiot is right no one in america knows anything about the rest of the world

Aww man, looks like no Killzone 3 for me today. Looks like the perfect day to finish off Valkyria Chronicles! You see, I got to the final chapter, only to have my house struck by lightning which resulted in my ps3 getting fried. After that, I didn't really want to restart it, but I feel that it's a game I need to finish...

darn don't surge protectors stop that sort of thing?

on a related note, never use a sink, shower or bathtub in a lightning storm. I used to know a guy who got struck by lightening that came though his pipes when he was shaving. he walks with a limp now. crazy stuff

@wwerko1992 It's tricky, because the spelling changes, but maintenance is derived from the word 'maintain'. As in, to 'maintain' the equipment in working order.

BOO! Lame... Sony.

I guess it's not a huge deal. I'll just play try and finish assassins creed brotherhood. The Da Vinci disappearance is ok ... Mostly good for getting shop quest items off the dead hooded fellas chasing you. I've already gotten like 6 of those coins and a bunch of fabrics & dyes. I personally think that Assassins Creed is as good as it gets in terms of the gameplay and story. If only Red Dead Redemption was as fun to play I'd have finished it by now.

This outage is just plain unacceptable. Why can't they perform maintenance in the midnight hours? To inform people on the day of the outage instead of at least a week prior just seems like piss poor customer service.

Eh, DSL should be activated by 8PM Central tonight so I'll only have to wait about an hour to try it out and knowing AT&T, it'll take at least that to get everything going. Can't wait to play Killzone 3 online without getting booted every couple of minutes due to f'd up latency thanks to living in a big apartment complex with a ton of Motorola employees that all have cable internet too. 1Mb download when they are all home, which happens to be when I'm home too. 10 minutes to load a 360p 3 minute youtube video. Ugh. /rant

During that time, users will not be able to access the PSN store, have difficulty signing into PSN and will "not be able to play online game."

How is that different from any other day?
