@SquallRinoa89

The sheep are the people who try to seem elitist by hating a franchise that helped give the gaming industry more validity among all other forms of entertainment. It's amazing how some people miss the bigger picture.

Good for Treyarch fighting through all of the hate and adversity. They made a great game.

Now if only the game didn't blue screen my computer on every map except Nuketown. I haven't been able to play this $60 monstrosity since release because of all the bugs. We're also missing the mod tools we were promised. That's false advertising. I wish I could get my money back... $60 down the drain because they couldn't be bothered to make the game work. Sigh. I should have just waited for Crysis 2, but no, I believed in Treyarch...

ok... how? i would like to know how does it suck compared those 2 games?
I have black ops and I loved playing it... the only reason I don't so much is because I played the shit out of it. graphically I didn't think it was that good but gameplay value is great! and im assuming were mostly talking about playing online?

Pretty much this. The comments in this thread are possibly the most hypocritical, childish comments I have ever read.

Thats probably how some people feel. However, lots of people like myself bought the game and became extremely frustrated because of how broken the multiplayer was (still is) and in general feel the series has went straight downhill since the original modern warfare. I don't think you can shoe horn everyone with a negative opinion into the "hate it because its popular" crowd. I also feel its sad because of the number of games that released last year that were actually amazing AND didn't get near the same amount of recognition from gamers. Games like Red Dead Redemption and Assassins Creed Brotherhood come to mind.

something needs to be said about the online element of blops. It's not just the gameplay it's the lobbies full of trash talking with your friends. it's the videos that you can brag about. it's all very competitive. much more than most other games. you can play a game in 15 minutes with 15 other people and come out screaming or laughing or cursing... that's part of the game. I mean look at all of the emblems and titles. they definitely designed the game with the social part of it as one of the main elements. for a CoD game that is more important than a lengthy SP campaign. it is.

some game designers don't think about that. BF:BC2 was incredible but you could only talk to 3 people in your squad. The trash talking aspect was gone! that took a lot of fun out of it. plus with 4 player squads I couldn't play it with all of my friends. so we didn't play it.

yeah it ain't the best gamers game out there but it's not trying to be. a "gamers" game isn't going to appeal to 15 million people because there aren't that many gamers

All this talk about "broken" multiplayer, and I still haven't had the pleasure of witnessing any of it. Maybe I'm just more adept at COD-style play after all these years, but Black Ops felt like a comfortable pair of shoes after all the pain MW2 gave me. Now THAT was a broken game.

I say congratulations! That is a big feat for any game. I can't understand why people hate COD so much, they are great games. Yes, some of the features and game play are the same as other COD games but, if it's not broken don't fix it. I am not saying that the COD franchise does not have it's flaws, but for the most part they are extremely solid games. Looking at the title of this post...A LOT of people agree. I love playing video games and in my opinion the COD franchise is one of the best around & I can't wait to see the next COD game...I will buy that one too!

It's nice to see some rational thought on this board. Personally, I didn't like MW2, but the Call of Duty Franchise itself is fantastic, and this kind of feat is something to be appreciated. Black Ops' multiplayer is much more fun than it's predecessor, and the single player is actually memorable and not trash.

Who the hell died and made you king? Stop trying to push all your beliefs on everyone else. How about you form your own opinion instead of telling everyone else why theirs is wrong.

Universal truth is not measured in mass appeal. Just because something sold 13 million copies doesn't mean everyone has to like it.

What's sad is the oh-so-elitist trend of hating Call of Duty. Funny how some "hardcore" gamers fail to see the bigger picture re: what this franchise's role has been in furthering the validity of gaming as a viable form of mass entertainment.
