Free Dance Central with 4GB Kinect Xbox purchase on Amazon

Dance Central is clearly stamped with a "Requires Kinect Sensor" label, but the opposite is also true: Kinect requires Dance Central. Amazon is proving this point -- for a limited time, while supplies last -- by offering Dance Central for free (along with a bonus 240 Microsoft Points -- hello Paula Abdul!) with purchase of the 4GB Xbox 360 system bundle with Kinect, which already includes Kinect Adventures. But here's the $130 question: What's missing from the picture? Ding-ding -- that's right! A hard drive. But Amazon has that on sale too, for just a dime under $91. So, buying the 4GB system bundle with Kinect and the 250GB hard drive separately is actually a shade cheaper than buying the 250GB bundle with Kinect -- plus Dance Central's tossed in there. That's a good deal.

Like Kinect adventures, but wish they would have bundled dance central w/ the stand alone kinect instead.

It would have made a lot more sense for them to bundle Kinect Sports instead of Kinect Adventures. Honestly, they could have stripped down Kinect Adventures, taken some of the good stuff from it (like Rallyball), and included it into Kinect Sports. Sports is the same idea as Wii Sports, sure, but it is a great disc that everyone should have. It does a much better job of showing off the Kinect's capabilities than Adventures does.

Anyhoo, to get back on topic, I will say that Dance Central and Kinect Sports are really the only two games that Kinect owners should have. They are easily the best out there right now and are a lot fun that should tide you over until new stuff starts coming out this year.

@kmcroc agreed, that'd be nice, but you don't bundle a AAA game with the accessory, that's just not smart business.

@kmcroc I like adventures. Its my most played kinect game even though I have all the ones mentioned. I cant really get into sports because the menus frustrate me.

hell yeah, i had been wanting to upgrade and finally have a reason. Just bought this. i was going to buy Kinect and Dance Central, plus a Wireless USB receiver already, figured what was an extra $100 or so to upgrade to the new slim?

@XeroAF it seems like you know this already but the slim has buolt in wireless yah? save you the usb.

just wish the 4gb version of the 360-s was the glossy black versus the matte black. the matte black looks okay in pictures but in person, it looks so bland. the glossy looks really classy, like a piano black.

but to have 4 gb of flash storage, then you add a 250 gb hard drive, then you get a free dance central... all for a price lower than a standalone 250gb 360, how could a person looking to get a 360 not jump? yeah, it's kind of hard to justify the higher price for a glossy finish.

have there been any new announcements for spring time xbox bundles that don't have kinect? I'd like to pick one up with a couple of games packed in

@YourMomsLover I think its going to be a really long time before Kinect cuts. Demand is too high and MS is almost treating it like a console release. It has no competition atm.

Dance Central gets a lot of praise and it deserves that praise but I can't get over the fact that a number of 360 gamers are biased hypocrites. After years of bashing dancing games for being 'fem' and also years of trashing the casual crap on Wii, 360 fans have embraced the casual kinect stuff which is mostly garbage (the pack-in title is a throwaway 'demo' disc more or less.. think wii play).

Dance Central is very good at tracking complex dance moves. It's unfortunately only a one player (at a time) affair but it works quite well. What I can't get past (being a dude) is the ridiculous feminine in-game characters. The entire male lineup is definitely a bit on the gay side for sure. And guys, yes you look stupid playing this... and fem. Just as stupid as jumping around playing DDR. Girls dig it, I'm sure gay dudes dig it.. But you straight guys out there I don't know how you can play this thing without some liquid courage and call it a killer app.

Either way the bundle is nice
