I can't wait for this. Castlevania is the best Action Adventure game I have played since Umcharted 2.

@CLOUD9

Wasn't the new Castlevania almost exactly like Devil May Cry? More so then Uncharted anyway..

I am one of those people still waiting for some epic surprise MGS4 DLC.

But I think I can officially say that I don't think it is going to happen anymore with the release of this DLC.

*Prompting to be proved wrong by Kojima Productions*

@TheRepublic

Outside of the quality of the cut scenes and voice acting, I doubt Kojima's company had very much to do with this. Unless, of course, he was the one that was like "Oh, steal this mechanic from Devil May Cry...um, needs more Shadow of the Colossus...oh, people still like that light/dark thing from Ikaruga, right?"

Meh........Lords of Shadow was the most disappointing Castlevania I've played by far. Pretty game but still felt very unfinished and generally unbalanced. They tried too hard to create strange plot twists and they've left quite a few unexplained elements in the story. I will admit the ending was pretty epic but unless the sequel can bring back the essence of Castlevania no amount of DLC is going to interest me for this game. The trailer doesn't excite me much either for "Reverie".

I keep hearing about Castlevina but I do not see it unless they are referring to that strange European fantasy action thing they released. Its not even as good as Onimusha or Tenchu.

I'll probably skip this one but I'm excited for whatever the heck the next one brings (with the crazy Kojima twist and all).

Screw the haters, while this game wasn't a traditional Castlevania, it was still an amazing reboot.

If the Devil May Cry reboot is half as good as this, I'll be happy. This game was amazing and I will be buying this DLC.

Yum yum. Screw haters.

I don't think people hated on this because it wasn't a "traditional" Castlevania game, I think they hated on it because it was full of outdated mechanics and had TONS of faults. It was about 5 hours too long, cribbed from so many games (and didn't do any justice to what they stole,) level design that was uninspired at best and downright confusing at worst (Titan Graveyard, I'm looking at you,) had murderous camera problems, janky platforming, poorly spaced checkpoints, and OH SO MANY cheap deaths.

That said, the overall presentation was fantastic, the graphics were gorgeous, and the fighting mechanic was probably one of the most robust that I've played outside of God of War or Buffy for the original Xbox (which is an incredible compliment.) Still, no sale on this DLC.

I don't want to say that it has no faults, because every game has faults.
But the only issue that I really noticed was the camera angles, but after playing Devil Summoner 2, Lords of Shadow didn't really bug me at all.

I personally didn't find the mechanics outdated, it borrows heavily from games like Uncharted and God of War, but that's a good thing. They may do platforming and combat better, but I love those games, so having a game with a name I love using parts they stole from other games was like an awesome Frankenstein's Monster kind of deal in game form.

I'm a very forgiving person when it comes to games and unless the game is severely poor, broken or downright lazy, I can generally overlook small issues, even if there are tonnes of them, and I just loved this game. The ending was absolutely divine as well, makes me want a sequel and DLC to keep me immersed in the universe until that sequel comes.

But seriously, this game could've been so much worse. 3D + Castlevania worked for once and I'm rambling, so time to cease typing.

It's funny that you mention Frankenstein's monster because, um, he's an electric scorpion now I guess? And apparently our Dracula is in another castle?

Granted, this is a million times better than any other 3D Castlevania game I've played...but if they want to make a sequel, they've got a LOT to fix the second time around. I'm not saying I hated it, but about 3/4 of the way through, I genuinely wanted to snap the disc in half.

Two words: Boner Town.

But what's this nonsense about having a firm EU release date but no specific NA date? I need to plan my life around this!
