Too bad he didn't make the one of Black Ops. Activision wrote that great song "Sympathy for the Devil" in that one!

All this and no mention of arguably his best scores ever ...

The Lion King and The Last Samurai.

SOS New York wasn't made by Hans, and yet it's the best track in the entire soundtrack.

@ravissimo I've personally always wanted Skinny Puppy or Throbbing Gristle or Einsturzende Neubauten to be contracted for a horror game soundtrack

They pretty much influenced the entirety of the 'industrial' genre, and games like Silent Hill would've never had their sound without them, and nobody would've even known who Trent Reznor is if Skinny Puppy wasn't there to "spur" him into copying one of their songs to begin his career.

One day, hopefully http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxuZ-zcL3E0

Just recall some Silent Hill tracks and throw in an old EN album http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixtUIcJOl0g

@wcarnation i listened to 3 songs of skinny puppy on youtube, and i definitely see the resemblance of their music and nine inch nails. been a fan of nine inch nails since the 90s, and i have to say, the main reason i think i prefer their music is simply the "mostly" coherent vocals. as someone who mainly listens to modern rock/alternative/some punk, even though i don't listen to pop, i still like to be able to sing along with a song i like. knowing at least some of the words gets you more into a song. club/dance you just listen to for the beat. skinny puppy i would like a lot more if they said anything i could understand. i agree with your point, if they influenced trent reznor, then thank you skinny puppy, because i like his music.

Very cool.

Hans Zimmer is certainly one of my favorite composers, although he does have a distinct sound that is getting a tad saturated.

At least it's not Danny Elfman.

Yeah, I like Zimmer, but he always does the same thing with his strings.

Ditto. Always been a big fan of Hans but his stuff is starting to get saturated. More Clint Mansell and let's give Hans a little break.

Is anyone who plays console gaming exclusively even excited about this at all?

I feel like I'm supposed to be stoked about this title, but I'm not...I'm completely indifferent.

Most PC gamers I know of are pretty excited (at least I am). Crysis 1 rocked, and so far this one looks great too!

@kentuckyfried I can play it on either console or PC. And I cannot say I am really all that excited. The original Crysis was a boring techdemo, nothing more. Crysis 2 still pushes the graphics, but feels alot like Call of Duty to me. Not something I am fond of.
