@The angry pro consumer gaming ga It is pretty crazy how much it dropped just being released. I remember pre-ordering Halo: Reach for only $45 a month before release. Great score.

Because it would cost twice as much to develop/market the same game with two different experiences. Not to mention the logistical nightmare it would cause at stores with angry people trying to return their copy that's only online enabled.

This (and the stock drop) actually makes me feel sad for the faceless business that is THQ.

They always try so hard but always come up short it seems.

I agree... they try so damn hard. I can't go along with others making fun of them cause I don't think they really deserve it.

They're like a friend's kid brother that really wants to hang out with the older boys and just get's picked on.

If they had half a chance (read: money) they'd be doing the same things everyone says they hate about EA and Activision.

Oops, sorry, almost stepped out of line. THQ are the good guys and EA/Activision are bad guys because their games sell (read: are) better.

I'll call this Mindless Underdog Syndrome.

in a month or two it'll likely end up on Wal-Mart's $18.93 rack. Even then I'd wait until it was at least half that to consider a purchase.

This happens to just about every new title nowadays - though not the day after launch in most cases - so paying $60 for a game is simply foolish if you're budget-conscious, unless there is some sort of irresistible preorder bonus. Factor in almost-inevitable patching, and waiting becomes worthwhile.

I guess there's something to be said for multiplayer potentially being stronger at launch, but being more of a single-player gamer, I'm not really qualified to comment.

I paid $40 for BlackOps on day one. There's practically no game nowadays you can't get at least a $10 break on the first week. If you're paying full price for all your games you need to stop shopping at GameStop.

White Castle is a fast food hamburger place that is advertised heavily in Homefront. Their food is really cheap, so you can grab several meals in a bag for a cheap price. So he's just saying the game is approaching a really cheap price.

After a solid year last year, I think THQ did themselves a disservice by stamping their name on this one. It's painfully unimaginitive and average.

Don't fool yourself cause of the price drop; the multiplayer is every bit as good as BF:BC...maybe even better...surround sound is awesome. They don't reinvent the wheel but if your tired of rng like COD this is a breath of fresh air until BF3 drops.

So verdict from the other comments is to not pick this up, even at $42? It looked interesting to me, but the mixed critical reviews and user reviews has me second guessing my impulse. I'm glad I didn't pay $60 on day one, that's for certain.

@Tike4216 Dont go on just reviews and comments alone, every game (as long as its playable and not full of game breaking bugs or crashes) is subjective. If you arent sure you want to buy it rent it for a night or two, that way if you like it you can go get it at a deal for $40 and if you dont, youre only out like $2.

I'm in the exact same situation. I really like Bad Company's multiplayer, but I'm getting a bit tired of it.

I need something (that isn't CoD) to keep me entertained until BF3 drops, and Homefront seems to fit the bill quite nicely.

TBH, the game is actually pretty decent. I got it for around $40. Shootouts are intense, and I really like the story. Also, the variety of weapons is nice. I feel like I haven't picked up the same weapon more than a few times.

Give it a try at this price (White Castle and Hooters are the biggest annoyances though)

I don't get it, what's all of this about white castle? There's no white castle anywhere near SF, or CA for that matter last I checked and I've lived in CA most of my life. That's kinda piss-poor advertisement if they actually have white castle's in San Fransisco in this game.

I find it amusing you described 2 completely different games in two completely different genres and game play styles....

I have played this game, I currently have it in my possession as I rented it yesterday. This is the worst game I have played that's come out in 2011 and its competing to be the worst shooter I've played in the last 2-3 years.

Are they really that different? Both are multiplayer, war style...yes warhawk is 3rd person but other then that they bring the same style of gameplay.

I can't speak for single player campaigns; never have played them; but in multiplayer fashion the game is on point with BF:BC2....I love how all the "followers" listen to these Game Critics who are no better than "movie critics" today. Just because its not made by activision or EA doesn't make it a suck game....

There are other vehicles in warhawk; lets not get sucked on literally speaking; It "reminded" me of Warhawk style game play with multiple vehicles interacting like in HF; I didn't say it was LIKE Warhawk exactly....Don't be a Casserole and go down that path....

Let's look at the on foot portions of Warhawk that are similar to Homefront.

Just saying man. Also to revert to your comment implying I've never played Homefront, I actually have it in my Ps3 right now going through it on Guerilla difficulty. Considering your comments I can tell you haven't played it, so....yeah. I made my opinion on the piece of dog mess that is Homefront.

And if you look at you know, what people actually say, no one really loves Activision....don't know where you pulled that from.
