What was the game 10 years ago? Half Life?

But honestly I praise Notch. The new addition of wolves will be amazing and will be so much fun! I adore how Notch made this with little help and now is chilling back with his thick stacks of millions and STILL supporting the community. I eagerly await the new game he is releasing.

@TJF It's about time that the rest of Mojang got the credit they deserve. It's obviously not Notch's fault, but a lot of places make him out to be the ONLY person working on Minecraft, which is just not true.

@Ad134 I know hes not the only one at Mojang but he did most of the work. I adore the rest too but Notch is the main man. The head honcho. The big cheese. But they do get recognition.

It's too bad that in a few years he'll be decrying Minecraft while telling us Minecraft 2 will be the greatest game ever made.

I fear for Minecraft 2, lord knows some big publishers are looking to take advantage of the interest in Minecraft and a buyout could be possible in the future. If said buyout does happen before a Minecraft 2 then it would just be a cash-cow and probably suck, leading to a cult of people sticking with the original. Eventually will discontinue support for Minecraft 1 servers leading to that cult hacking their own servers until the game eventually reaches all levels of obscurity, with maybe a few loyal fans still hanging around for the lols.

But I'm just scare mongering, this probably wont happen AT ALL. Right?

I remember there was an interview with Notch and he said there will never be a Minecraft 2. I would provide the source, but I'm too lazy.

@Wazzup4567 As I understand it, Notch hasn't done *any* work on minecraft since December, except for the new loading screen. The rest has been mostly Jeb.

@Ad134 Unless I'm mistaken, Notch did ALL of the work up until a couple months ago when he officially bought an office and hired some people. So yes, the company is doing a lot of work now and should be praised for it, but Notch already made millions of dollars way before the company was even formed off of what he had already done with Minecraft. It's not that people are forgetting that there is a company. It's more like people aren't forgetting that it was only Notch until recently. :P

I agree. He managed to make this game sell a million copies without any advertising. And it's not even finished yet. If that doesn't show that it's a good game I don't know what will.

Notch will only be like Molyneux if a marketing demon from the 634th layer takes up residence in his body and forces him to spout ludicrous comments such as "This game will change how you look at life" and "This is unlike anything you have EVER experienced!".

Praise to Molyneux for Populous but he needs a big heavy roll of duct tape for his mouth when he is designing/developing a game. Also, he should concentrate more on gameplay and fun instead of fart gags and chicken killing achievements in his games.

As much as I like Minecraft, if it's the best thing he's played in the last 10 years, I really wonder what he's been playing.

Best thing in the last year and a half? Sure, I can see that.

I wonder if it's the games he's played that have made the things he's said seem so grossly out of sync with gaming.

He's lucky that Ocarina of Time didn't fall into that time period... Because that would've made me very, very angry.

For like 3 minutes, then I would've read another post. Those 3 minutes would've been full of voodoo and praying to satanic gods.

Nobody hates on Ocarina of Time.

He couldn't be out doing something creative, you know, like playing Minecraft, nope, he just trolls it up on the internets, trying to piss people off. One post at a time.

You're not a human being, deal with it.

No worries. It's similar for me. I follow every post I see about minecraft to admire what amazing stuff people build in this game (like that 16Bit computer), but personally I can't seem to get into it. I mean, it's a sweet world building tool, but the game outside of the creative part doesn't work for me. I call this phenomenon the "little big planet" syndrome.

Some people just don't understand the joy of Legos. I for one find Minecraft the first game that has ever given purpose to mindless Lego building. I spend countless hours in the game alone or with a friend (I host a server most nights).
