Hitman ARG concludes with new Hitman image
25
When IO Interactive kicked off an ARG earlier this month for its Hitman series, all signs pointed to an E3 reveal of the long-rumored Hitman 5. Now that the gumshoe AR game has concluded, it seems downright obvious that said game will make its debut at this year's big LA gaming convention. The image you see above was unearthed by a group of mystery hitmen -- which is to say, "folks who secretly assassinate mysteries" -- and was confirmed by IO Interactive to be the final clue of the ARG.
Outside of a few cursory words on the image, the IO Interactive rep didn't reveal much else, though he did say "an even more awesome follow-up" is being planned now that HitmanForum.com members have uncovered everything this ARG has to offer. As previously indicated, the ARG points to an E3 reveal of the next Hitman game.

So glad this series is moving forward. I picked them up during the awesome Steam holiday sale and it took me back to some good times. I always liked that you could take different routes and methods to completing your objectives, and they should be able to expand on that tenfold now with huge maps and a bunch of different ways to doing a mission. There's lots of room for the developers to play around and do some cool new things with the franchise. They should add a Bioware-like dialogue wheel for when you are in disguise, for example.

@Uncle Jesse Don't get excited just yet. These days development studios are not predictable when it comes to "moving forward".
As much as I love Hitman, I can see them turning this into either something closer to Splinter Cell or something closer to Assassin's Creed. I just don't know anymore, but I do want to like it.

No more HD-fied packs, please. I'd rather them focus their efforts on making a solid new product.
Besides, Blood Money is from this generation, so that's pointless.

yea what Epoque said ... or the Devs could wait till they are done with the new hitman game. then go do that.. but it's mainly external studios.
Also i for one am in favor of the HD Fied Releases and the biggest reason is i can buy the games i missed out on from the PS2 days
( Sly Collection Soon to be ICO * tho i have it on PS2 * and SOTC, then we have the upcoming Splinter cell which i have on xbox ** tho i never touched the 3rd one or 4th one but i will re buy the 4th one for the PS3 ** and then their's the splinter cell series ( which i know people said wasn't good remake ) but i don't care cause it rather own them then not own them .. and i will not buy them used on ebay or try looking for them online )

I won't be buying this game unless 47 looks exactly like Timothy Olyphant.

And I won't be buying this game unless Olga Kurylenko gets naked... again.

So long as they've moved this series forwards some. I've always picked up the Hitman series but they've never quite felt as though they've lived up to potential.
Hopefully they've picked up some tips from Assassins Creed (blending into crowds, not leaping face stabs) in the interim

I prefer Hitman's costume based stealth to the Assassin's Creed model.

@iHavePants - Oh I wouldn't want them to do away with the costume system; just that I would like if there's a bit more than that.
I have to say that it feels slightly conspicuous when you're trying to get the timing of a guard's pattern and you're standing in a corner with nothing else to do. Being able to blend in to the environment (whether it be in a crowd or by yourself with a newspaper for cliche) would add to that part of the game

Great series ... love these games, but the new title really has to bring more to the table than updated graphics. The formula is being to wear thin.

And people always wonder why I save my old guitar strings...
Finally another thing to fill the void only things like Dexter and Hitman can fix.
Oh the sweet, sweet art of murder. *picks up two pieces of wood and a .52 guitarstring, pure nickel*
Now let´s tune this to E...*puts on sunglasses*
around someones neck!
