Developer Capy has been quite adamant that Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP would launch during the "vernal equinox" -- and now the developer has finally deciphered that gibberish, revealing a March 24 launch date. We're pretty sure "vernal" isn't a word, guys!
This Thursday, pokers and prodders looking for something new to play on their iPads should be able to download the self-professed "crude videogame haiku about life, love & death." As previously reported, the soundtrack will launch two weeks after the iPad game and two weeks prior to the iPhone/iPod Touch version, which has a tentative April launch window right now. And if you're still feeling a bit lost, why not check out our thumbs-on preview of the game from back in early March?

Question: what's the logic behind always releasing games on Tuesdays? All major releases are on Tuesday, which seems really random.

@geniuswithagun Generally i believe it has to do with shipping times and dates, wanting product to arrive before the release day, but not early enough that there's a huge chance of stores breaking street dates and selling over weekends before the game is supposed to be released. The music industry is the same way, almost all music releases on tuesdays as well.
but this is coming out thursday, not tuesday.
obiously a lot of my ideas about tuesday release dates isn't applicable towards digital content, but maybe it's just a pattern that has carried over to digital releases since everyone is used to it being that way.
just my $.02

@aurorajorealis your participation in social networking sites is winning.
You are a gorgeous, gorgeous awesomeness of awesome.
And for everyone else - You do not need to wait until Thursday. I shall not. Expect it at 11pm EST, where it will pop its head out and introduce you to the amazingness of S&S. From what I understand it is filled with tiger blood...
Apologies for the cliche Sheenisms, they just seemed to fit.
WINNING.

Actually I have no choice but to wait (linear time), but I am excited for this release.

'Vernal' IS a word. It means Spring. (ie. the spring equinox). A 2 second google search would have confirmed that.

I still have no idea what this game is.
And videos aren't helping any.
This intrigues me.

It's a game that will throw you back to gaming on the nintendo or Dos-bootup adventure games.
If you have the hardware for it it's completely worth the $5. The soundtrack even rocks.

I recently got an iPad, and picked this game up for it. I was pretty skeptical about how gaming could be on the iPad especially since I already own a DS for most of my hand-held gaming.
This game though, blew me away. I never realized that 8-bit (or is it 16?) could be so beautiful and atmospheric.
If this is the direction gaming is going in with small indie developers pushing out $5-15apps, bring, it, on. I kind of loath myself for liking the iPad so much, but man is it fun with the touch screen.
@DrRadon
(I think it was $4.99 if recall correctly).
