Batman: Arkham City pre-orders at GameStop include challenge maps
27
The official Batman: Arkham City website was recently updated with details on retailer specific pre-order bonuses. It appears GameStop has the best hook-up at the moment, offering "Joker's Carnival Challenge Map" in exchange for your down payment. The only other bonus noted at this time is Best Buy's nondescript "combo pack."
We contacted WBIE for details this morning, but have yet to receive any specifics. As always, we'll update when we learn more.
[Thanks, JJQ360]

Life was easier before DLC.
Preorders got you... well nothing really; but at least you don't feel left out because you hate the customer service (and business practice**) of one particular store.

The GameStop closest to me is possibly the most incompetent store in existence. I get notified that my pre-order is in and when I go to pick it up after work, the guy tells me they have no record of my pre-order. I had the receipt in my hand and the voicemail on my mother ****ing phone. He then tells me to find out what happened so I won't get charged a restocking fee... like I'm the one who works there. Then he tries to sell me the game without the pre-order bonuses (which is the only reason I pre-ordered from them in the first place)... Then I had to deal with their "shining beacon of excellence" known as their online support...
Never again. Amazon, Newegg, anywhere but GameStop.

GameStop is good at forgetting you preordered games.
Especially collector's editions.
"Oh, that collector's edition of that rare game, that was sold out 6 months ago? The one you came in, and put down $10 on, and has sold out everywhere? The one you have a reciept for? Yeah, we don't have a record of that. Sorry. You get the regular edition with everyone else."

@The Joy of Painting w Bob Ross I know what you mean I pre ordered a game and put $30 down on it and when I went to pick it up they had no record so I had to go back to my house and get it. In the end it turns out that they entered my phone number wrong.
Now I just stick to Amazon, and Best Buy

BOO to retailer-specific preorder bonuses!
I'd boycott this if it wasn't going to be so damn good. WHY DO YOU HAVE TO BE SO DAMN GOOD?!
(...we'll make our example out of the *next* game with retailer specific preorder bonuses.)

I'm ok with pre order bonuses but for our sake, make them all the same for all places :/

They still open the case at Gamestop. I'll go without for a shrinkwrapped box.

If it wasn't Batman, I'd be rallying for people to boycott.
But...but...BATMAN.

Retailer-exclusives (especially pre-order retail exclusive bonuses) suck ass. Especially when they're not accessible to everyone, including people in other countries without GameStop. Then they charge you up the ass for it on PSN/Xbox LIVE/Windows LIVE later on if you want it (if they can even be bothered to put it up for purchase).

And on that note, this should be the official picture used whenever companies scam us with pre-order/day-one DLC.

Joker sucks as a Vilain. Can't DC think of anything better than a clown that Batman refuses to kill every time he as the chance. That clown murdered thousands of people and yet nobody dares to kill the freak. Stupid DC.

Depending on what continunity you follow, he's been killed at least once before.
They did an entire movie on it. "Batman, Return of the Joker."
And depending on what cut you see of it, either Robin shoots him (while being brainwashed) or he slips, and grabs an electrical switch, electrocuting himself.

#1 Comics arent real. #2 Its just easier to not kill off characters because you inevitably have to bring them back to fill the massive void that your created, let alone pissing off all of your readers. #3 Resurrection involves long convoluted storylines. ...unless Geoff Johns writes it of course.

The Joker has one hell of a Kool-Aid smile. He can feel the cash swelling his back pockets.
So he can continue his dastardly deeds.

Place your bets now on the Best Buy "combo pack".
My vote? It's a voucher for a combo at a fast food joint. They're taking "combo" literally in this case.
