Ok, that's pretty damn sweet. Take advantage of this deal, buy the 3DS at KMart, then go to Toys Rus for the buy 1 get one half off (if there's really 3 launch games you need, which I have trouble seeing) and you'll have 3 games for $75 total which is less than the cost of 2.

@Hoops

Rayman - $39.99
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars - $39.99
Super Street Fighter IV - $39.99

Seem liek the only decent games (from name alone)

For me Steel Diver, Pilot Wings, Samurai Warriors, Bust-A-Move, Nintendogs+cat for the fiance, and maybe Super Monkey Ball for me.

I'm torn between which store to get it from... Depending on the second title I bother with, either store has good deals.

In terms of the buyer, great deal. In terms of provider, BAD idea. They don't need any sort of deal to sell out in less than an hour.

@Schlecht Actually, in California, it's smart of them to do this cause it puts them on the same level as Amazon. Amazon doesn't charge tax here, so people who buy the 3DS off Amazon save $25 anyways. If you buy the 3DS on Amazon and then get the buy 1 get 1 half off deal at Toys r Us (assuming you want 2 games), you'll save more money that way.

I dunno what I'd get. Either Madden/The Sims 3 or Nintendogs + Cats: Lab and Friends

I don't live in the US so that sucks

If you're going to get Madden, then just save your money. It would be worth more in your pocket than in your 3DS.

I'd pick up Shadow Wars for $15.

But already have it preordered at a local place. Gotta support the local mom n' pop shops or else it will be big box retailers and EB games everywhere.

Plus there is no K mart in Canada...

Shame I'm 1) waiting until the "3DS Lite" to buy any kind of 3DS and 2) unable to find a single game on that list that I'm super interested in that would make me change my mind about #1.

Although....wait a minute....WOW. Sign me up for Combat of the Giant Dinosaurs. :P

you may be waiting a long time, Nintendo already said that they were not going to make the 3DS any smaller due to the hardware already being packed in enough as it was. Basically, if anything, they'll go the XL route.

well why would they tell you they were going to make another smaller one when they haven't even released the original yet? trust me, there will be another 3DS version. there always is with Nintendo.

Didn't say there won't be another 3DS version, but they'll likely not make the system smaller (maybe less bulky like how the original DS turned into the DS Lite). But they'll probably make the system slightly larger with larger screens.

Wow almost all of these games are "novelty shovelware" that will be $10 new in a few months anyway.

I remember buying into several Wii games that today I look back on and think "Really? Why did I ever buy that game at full price?"

Fact of the matter is, it was the system's launch (or very near it) and I was desperate for games to play on it. If you ask me, everyone lowers their standards for launch games because, well, they want to play new games really badly. Suddenly, mediocre games are enticing because they're not terrible and they're an excuse to play something on the new hardware.

Gamestop has $100 off the actual 3DS if you trade in an XL. So thats actually cheaper for me, even cheaper still when you consider I won the XL so I didn't pay anything for it in the first place.

I've got SSFIV already paid off. I may pick up SW Chronicles or Rayman 3D the week after though.

Makes me wonder if Gamestop will do any sort of deal, I mean around here all that would be left is Them, Target, and Walmart

Here ya go:

"Trade your DSi XL and get $100 in-store credit toward the reservation of a 3DS, trade in your DSi and get $75 or trade in your DS lite and get $50."

The western "Golden Retriever and Friends" is the equivalent. In both the Japanese and western release, this edition has both the Shiba Inu and Golden Retriever.

Sucks that there isn't a Kmart anywhere near where I live, so I guess I'll settle with trading in a couple games (which will include my copy of Homefront) to Gamestop for my preordered SSFIV and take advantage of that Toys R Us deal.
