I really like this idea. It's a great opportunity for people/companies like Kristina to get into the spotlight even if it's just for a little bit. It certainly got me interested in her game.

@Altman be Praised yeah and it's free too! I was thinking about charging 10 dollars for the pausing but I changed my mind at the last second. Rejoice!

@sunflowerprincess I'm going to buy your game just for that "$10 to pause" joke.

I don't know. The game doesn't look that fun.

no offense, and before anyone yells at me, no I could not make a better game.

It just seems very difficult, the spaces b/n blocks are so small. And I could see myself getting tired of it after one or two minutes.

Great art-style and good concept, it just maybe could have been served with a couple of changes.

People will yell at you because there's a female developer online, the most highly guarded type of person on the internet and you said their thing wasn't perfect!

We're going to be very yelled at.

I agree, kudos to her for making a game and for doing what she loves, but that looks more tedious than fun. For me it would just be an exercise in frustration.

i was gonna say something too but people on this site rage anytime you say anything negative about a female, wether she be a dev or just a plain jane gamer.

anyways, i agree but for diff reasons, the game looks challenging and fun but it looks like every other iPhone game in thats Its simple and to the point, the problem is that i already own DOZENS of games like that (doodle jump, canabalt and MotoRacer being examples)... i dont expect it to be deep like Zedonia(?) but it should be at least as deep and simple as PvZ. Maybe have various rockets and obstacles. a way to speed up or slow down (could be cheating). anyways my 2cents

Wow, has some kind of massive shift occurred while I was gone? Did I accidentally sleep through the biggest internet revolution in the universe? Next, you'll be telling me that black people are esteemed in the highest regard within Youtube comments.

I agree with the poster above me. The game doesn't look enjoyable. It's a nice little feat that she managed to do this all by herself from absolutely scratch, but the game itself looks both boring and unimpressive.

"OK, so I really, really don't want you to buy Paper Rocket so don't do it, OK?"
Okay I won't.

EA spends millions of dollars on Madden and that game bores the crap out of me. Paper Rocket looks fun to me, and the fact that she created it by herself is awesome. I've always wanted to make games, and stories like this give me hope. I'd be thrilled if I managed to make a game this good.

Thanks everyone for your comments! Feel free to brainstorm how I can improve the game here or just email me. I just created a twitter account too! "thegamedivision" is my user name.

I'm working away on the next update!

And thanks Joystiq for writing about me!

Hey I have a question that I was hoping Joystiq would ask, but they didn't.

So one day you decided you wanted to learn how to create games. Where did you even start?

i said earlier that maybe various rockets (unlockables?) and obstacles would add longer replayability , also a "random" endless mode where the obstacles are made in random sequence and you never really play the same "map" twice and a bonus mode. best of luck with mobile game development, its a booming field.

@anoffday Well I have a retired friend who is very talented at mobile development who has helped me out A LOT. The art and music part I figured I had covered from before so it was down to learning some basic programming at first. I think it is impossible for me to learn how to program "well" but I'm working within my limitations. After 2 years I still really don't know what I'm doing half of the time but the internet and friends are a great source of information.

@PR0F3TA You can unlock various rockets but they are just aesthetics, they don't control differently. I definitely want to add some more obstacles for variation, I just don't know what they should look like! I don't have a good solution for creating more dynamic levels as it is too difficult for me to have everything random (I tried and I failed). The segments you play are picked at random though so you should never have 2 runs that look exactly the same - thanks!
