Splinter Cell Classic Trilogy sneaks to June 21, Prince of Persia HD on Blu-ray also delayed

Originally due to be released today on both Blu-ray disc and PSN, the HD-ified Splinter Cell Classic Trilogy has slipped off the radar and into the shadows. IGN reports that it'll wait there, for undisclosed reasons, until resurfacing on June 21. It's not alone -- the retail release of the Prince of Persia HD trilogy, also expected today, has been pushed to April 19.

Both trilogies will retail for $40 when they finally arrive on Blu-ray. The three high-res Prince of Persia games are already available via PSN at $15 a pop.

Awesome haven't played this game in years. Next game to be released in HD will probabaly be Crash Bandicoot. (Just Dreaming)

Really want the SC trilogy.
PoP as well stupidly bought SoT thinking it wasn't coming to retail.
So I'll wait for that one to hit 30 so I'm not basically paying twice for it.

I surely hope splinter cell is a good port, and not a PoP trilogy type port...

someone correct me if i'm wrong, but i thought i read that these were also coming to xbox. any word on when those release dates are?

Only ever heard of these as PS3, right now atleast.

@Faenix ahh, found where i read it. the HD trilogies of both SC & PoP were rated by the ESRB for the PS3 and Xbox 360. so hopefully, Ubisoft will make it official, because i'd love to replay these.

At some point they will be, I mean the original games werent exclusive.. seems odd for them to be PS3 exclusive

(Tomb raider trilogy makes sense as a PS3 exclusive, as two of em werent on the PS3 in the first place)

Was wondering where this was yesterday when I picked up Crysis.

I'm having a hard time remembering if we got confirmation on what versions exactly were part of the HD re-release. Tom Clancy / Ubisoft PS2 era titles were notorious for being err ... well, bad.

They probably delayed it because they are hoping the hate surrounding the sloppy PoP SoT port will die down.

After years and years, I finally get to play Chaos Theory.

Yeah, I have tipped them about the *NEW* Motorstorm Apocalypse official release date... have they mentioned it? No.
