@MLC I did not think it was bad. Single player was short but the mutiplayer is fun and only had a few problems getting in with friends but definatly worth the 35 or so dollars I spent on it.

So they've shipped 2.4 times as much as they've sold? I know it hasn't been out long, but doesn't sound like a ratio to be celebrating to me.

This just means a quick price drop as stores try to dump their inventory.

@Dizazter 2.4 is actually pretty solid, since this is the number of discs which they have actually sold. Producers usually run of shipped numbers anyways.

It's not like the games that they haven't sold yet won't. And even if they didn't or hit the bargain bin, each one costs pennies, so considering $50-60 times 2.4 million, it's generating quite a bit of money.

Well and admittedly, it's real early in the game. But this one seems like it's on a collision course with the bargain bin. (Like many, many games, and not like that's necessarily a bad thing)

They don't sell it for $50-60, it probably goes for around $40. Still $40 times 2.4 million is $96 million bucks. And that is what they already made. It does not matter how those games are sold by retailers, THQ made that money already.

Still haven't played it, but have a lot of people on my friends list playing it.

Now that people have had time to dig into the multiplayer, what's the consensus? I've heard it's pretty good. Better than Killzone 3?

I haven't played kz3's MP that much but it seems to be more of the same as kz2's. I don't know, it hasn't hooked me.

Homefront MP is fun but getting into matches takes awhile but it's fun when you finally get in and it's working. Matches can be a bit lopsided though from what I've observed, esp. if somebody on the other team is good at sniping.

Is it just me or is driving on at least one of the maps is...challenging? Too many dead-ends and obstacles for the humvee on the one map I was on.

The game suffers from numerous setbacks... on the MP end. Not really worth buying until they straighten them out. Can't connect to games in a party with friends. Lots of people have some luck as just a single, but with a group of friends forget it.

SP was okay. Nothing special. There were parts that were fun, but meh overall.

I'd wait until you hear that its really fixed. Check out how mad people are on the homefront forums... those are the people (trying) playing it. Some of their comments are hilarious. KAOS/THQ has really screwed the pooch so far with this launch, in my opinion.

Agreed. They could've added more emotion and Wow factor to the campaign to make it even more fun. The multiplayer is addicting. I love earning battle points and calling in anything you want -- tank, chopper, drone, airstrike, etc.

They are working on patches/updates to make matchmaking better. The other issue that people seem to ignore is NAT setting. If one person in your party has it set to moderate or restricted, then you will most likely wait forever.

I'd like to see the statistics showing how many people purchased, then returned it. I bought this game, played it, then took it back the following morning. I used the thirty bucks to buy Crysis 2, which in my opinion, is a much better game (Multiplayer and campaign both).

Every minute I played HF, I wished I were playing BF:BC2

What an underwhelming game.. I'm kinda sad it sold so well, though that was all thanks to the genius marketing.

There were times were it vaguely reminded me of Half-Life 2. Anyone else get that feeling at all?

@powerrangerporno Sold is how many retail chains have sold to consumers whilst Shipped is how many the production studio actually sent out and sold to retailers. I think (i could be wrong).

The "shipped" amount is the number of copies the publisher has sold to retailers. The "sold" figure is the number that have actually been purchased by consumers (from those retailers).

I guess it's settled then. Make a first person shooter with decent to good production values, market the hell out of it, and you may ship a million copies.

If THQ can do it then I'm scared other 2nd tier publishers will keep it up.

By the way THQ, that money better be put to good use. Darksiders 2 could sure use it.

So both Homefront and Medal of Honor were very heavily influenced by Call of Duty and received mediocre reviews but sold well out of the gate. Obviously Activision needs to start making CoD games semiyearly, possibly even one a quarter.

Now Crysis 2... much better game.

I haven't played all the way through yet, but the single player was really underrated. If you dive into the story, it is great. If you play it like a game of COD multiplayer, it will be terrible.
