Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition
$49.95$24.97 (Impulse)
Impulse takes dragon-sized bite from Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition price
24
From a value perspective, it's pretty hard to deny the cost to amount of game ratio of Impulse's half-price deal on Dragon Age: Origins. It includes both Origins and the Awakening expansion for 25 bucks. Throw in the fact that it's actually a good game and, well, you've got yourself a heckuva deal.

I just picked up the ultimate edition a few days ago. So far I'm somewhat unimpressed, it seems like a step backwards after Mass Effect.

@Assmar
That's what I was thinking. If its a step back from ME1, then its in like Sonic Chronicles territory.
And it would make sense to be a step back from ME2 considering that Dragon Age was released first, albeit with only a few months in between.

I don't want to bash the game too much, I've only just arrived at the Mage's Circle tower thingy. I was amazed that there was no voice acting for the main character. Also, the combat just feels kind of clunky. And yeah, there's weird difficulty spikes that come out of nowhere. I dunno, I need to give it a full playthrough before I can cement an opinion.

Ewww... Mage circle... pro tip for you there, go Counter-clockwise when you are given choices as to where to go in there. You'll thank me later. As for combat, specially on the consoles, yeah it can be rather clunky at times, especially when playing as melee. Its a bloody shame that all the great warrior skills were added with Awakening as well.

@343 Guilty Fart This is my exact thought as well. It seems very unpolished for a typical BioWare game, and while the story has some interesting wrinkles, many aspects of it are just loaded with cliches or re-hashes of every other fantasy RPG you've ever played. I beat it, and will start working on Awakenings because I have it. It's a pretty good game, but by BioWare standards, I found it to be below average.
From what I hear there is a patch to make the game much prettier on PC, but even from a graphics perspective, this game is nothing to be impressed with.

It also comes with the bunch of DLC, Leilianna's Song, Darkspawn Chronicles, Golems of Angmark, and Witchunt.
As well as the feast-day items, which can be rather awesome.

Also, a quick google search brings up SURVEY2010 as a coupon, which brings the total down to 22.47 for me.

The combat us a bit clunky on the consoles but very nice the pc but still a little slow. If it's not your style I guess I can understand but dragon age origins is one of the best rpgs that I've ever played. The story is our right amazing and I personally loved the combat on the pc.

This is a really good deal, considering how much that all cost originally. If you haven't ever played this...Go buy it now!

Anyone know if it can be bought through impulse and then registered in Steam?

@InvaderRJ
Nope, none of Bioware games are Steamwork games which allow you to register the game through Steam. Go to this site for all the games that can be registered!! https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7480-WUSF-3601

Thanks a ton, awesome link! Sucks though because I already have the original collectors edition on Steam (so the game and the wardens keep and stone prisoner expansions) was going to buy it to get the DLCs and the expansion all under my steam account but dont really wanna own the same things twice and under 2 different download services. =/
