That's interesting, but I wish this game would be released with Okami for the ps3. That'd be so cool!

I think this is the game I'll be picking up with my 3DS.

Half of a god can't save the world?

Emo kids and dudes in suits are probably not even 1/10th god and they save the world all the time.

For a sec I thought the title was saying that the producers of Okamiden were planning a Pokemon game for the 3DS.

WHY CANT I GO BACK TO THAT GLORIOUS SECOND?!

That's nice and all, but PUPPY!

Yeah, that's all I have to say.

Why didn't they just make the game for 3DS?

@tendoboy1984

Because Nintendo would have been embarrassed if the only games worth getting at launch were both from Capcom.

Development life cycle issues. Game like that would easily take about 3+ years to make. If Nintendo only handed out 3DS dev kits 2 to 2 and a half years ago, with 'final' dev kits making the rounds 6-18 months before release, it doesn't give them time to produce the top-quality game they intend.

Hence why you have smaller, cheaper games out at launch of a system. They're games which don't require a lengthy development period.

Of course, you have some oddities. Professor Layton was a really shocking launch title in Japan, but since the game uses a lot of flat artwork and video animation, a transition of the game from DS to 3DS would be a lot easier than most DS titles. Shame Level Five couldn't have got the localisation done for US/EU launch of the 3DS... Oh well, shouldn't have to wait TOO long... (Oh wait, we still haven't got the fourth Layton yet...)

@SSUK Had that happened, Pokemon would almost certainly have been Nintendo's flagship launch games for the 3DS

Oh how wonderful this game would have been if they'd have decided to delay it a few months, add 3D, up the polygon count, and release on 3D.

Okami deserves to become a fully fledged series. Stop making it hard for yourselves Capcom!

Still want this game, it still sounds amazing, but it had so much more it could have had.

Meh. Once the 3DS drops to my price range (and hopefully has a better battery) I may buy one to use 90 to 99% of the time in 2D mode. Until then, I'd rather have the games I want to play released on the platform that is most comfortable to play them on (my DSi XL).

But I am hopeful that 3DS game development will flourish.

Bad timing; but a great note for the DS to go out on.

Maybe, but I'd like to think of Pokemon B&W as the system's true swan song, given how it's the best 'mon game in years.
