PDP and Power A reveal first batch of 3DS accessories

You've already made the biggest decisions regarding your upcoming acquisition of the Nintendo 3DS: What color should you buy? What launch titles are worth your time and money? Shouldn't you wait for that Zelda jam? However, we'd wager that one of your most important decisions remains unmade: Which accoutrements should your purchase to compliment your new, handheld friend? (That's French for "video game accessories," we believe.)

Power A and PDP have each revealed their Nintendo-licensed suites of cases, chargers and cleaning kits -- all of which are available to order from their respective sites. We're confident that between the two of them, all your needs are accounted for. Need a standalone car charger? No probs. A businesslike, faux leather case? Oh, here it is. How about a Rainbow Telescoping Stylus Pack? We don't even know what that is, but we want one.

Think I'm going to hold back for the inevitable special edition 3DS's.

Yeah Nintendo has a problem here, it's like Microsoft. Many are going to wait for the first Service Pack even if there's not actually one planned.

I'm not really interested in the 3DS, but if they did a snazzy special edition 3DS for the first Pokemon game on the platform, I'd probably bite.

The main thing they can alter will be the battery life, and since I rarely play for longer than 3 hours anyway, especially away from somewhere I can charge, it's no big deal for me. It looks and feels just like a DS Lite/i so I'm happy with the feel.

I need that PDP set because I really want a cleaning cloth I can lay between the two screens when I store it.

Just go to a vision store and buy one. No reason to dump money on a bunch of garbage for that. To quote akbar..."it's a crap!"

I make fun of these but they're actually really useful. Car chargers are awesome.

I read that as "A powerful reveal of 3DS accessories".

That looks like a pretty nice kit there though, but it's something you don't really know until you get the feel of it.

I think it's downright adorable. The puppy's cute and all, but given how the case opens, it'd be EPIC WIN if it was a Kirby case.

I played with the 3DS at gamestop today and I loved it. Can't wait until Midnight ^__^

I've pretty much decided on the aqua blue, but the cases seem to be more geared towards black in terms of color coordination. Too bad.

But hey, can you imagine some big-name company executive sporting that 3DS case and whipping it out during a business meeting? Profit margins my ass, I MUST HAVE MY SUPER SFIV FIX!

I bought the black version of this case today. It's a really nice looking case, with storage for a lot of games and the main compartment is well padded. Quite bulky but apart from not having a belt attachment, better for carrying around than my current DS case.

MadCatz and Futuretronics also have a share in the 3DS accessories on launch (and I know that at the least, the MadCatz ones are licensed by Nintendo).

Still, even though some if these look cool, I'd never use them, so it'd be pointless for me to waste money on them.

Plus, I already have a bazillion cleaning clothes because I wear glasses. They're often more trouble than they're worth. I just hope my glasses don't magnify the 3D and make me start seeing things in 3D outside of video games. Oh, actually, a little more depth perception couldn't hurt me. Just my eyes.

I was gonna buy a carrying case with my 3DS purchase, but then I realized it's practically the same size as my DSi and just so happens to fit with its case. So, I'm set for strutting this thing around, hopefully snag a couple people on Street Pass.
