We've all had a lot of fun playing Andreas Illiger's adorable iOS title Tiny Wings, but now we've all got some skin in the game. An update released today not only robs the sixth island of some of its super uneven difficulty, it also adds Game Center support. On top of the game's native Open Feint features, that makes Tiny Wings one of the biggest contenders for our competitive attention.
And now we're playing it. So you don't get an ending to this post. Deal with that reality.

I just hope they add in the ability to save a day's color scheme to play whenever you want.
Great game!
This, Mr. Ninja and Mechanic Panic are all the iPhone gaming I need right now. And Final Fantasy III.

What I don't like about this game is how it's a blatant clone of another title, they just added bird graphics.
Because of that I can't buy this game and must spread the message of its filthy background. Exactly the same as Zynga, except I imagine everyone here likes this company.

What, Helicopter? Worm?
That's like copying hide and seek. It's a classic.

Solipskier, and it seems that the whole debate has been deleted from Touch Arcade but there was a PC game that had the same mechanics, interface and gameplay to this game but was years older. I asked the developer on Youtube if he had played the original game and my comment was deleted.
(I also thought my opinion of Touch Arcade couldn't go any lower too. They just pander to developers and give everything blazingly high reviews)

@VeeDeeVee Bit like how I feel about CoD. Filthy, dirty hobbittss...oops I mean games. Blatant copy of pretty much, every other war FPS game out there. Names change and not much else. Funnily enough, people seem to like it though. Same for Tiny Wings. So your message probably won't go far.

@VeeDeeVee That's not like solipskier.
In solipskier you control only the ground. In Tiny Wings you control only the bird (character).
Both are fun.

I own both of these titles and anyone who has played them would know they are not the same game at all. They're about as similar to one another as Eternal Darkness and Resident Evil 4 (both scary, both with people you move around, but each with different control schemes, scenery, plot, and gameplay).
Solipskier has more in common with Kirby's Canvas Curse than Tiny Wings.

I completely disagree that this is a rip of solipskier. I mean, it's a sidescroller and you score points by using the world, but that's it. You literally CREATE the ground in solipskier, and have to get to certain places to pass gates.
In tinywings you have to utilize the world to gain speed and collect points. Tinywings is closer to excitebike than solipskier in my mind. And they're not that close.

Really hope Nintendo adds patching to 3DS, all these handheld platforms (NGP & mobile) getting free dlc and 3DS is left in the dark.

If developers didn't rip off other games, we'd have like 10 games, so yay for ripping off games! By the way, my game center tag is the same as here.

And Joystiq moves from Angry Birds... to Tiny Wings. Oy...

I was originally ignoring this game because I thought it was a rip off of Angry Birds, which I was also ignoring because it didn't look like anything special.
But then after reading some of these comments I went and downloaded it anyways, and it's not even remotely like Angry Birds.

It's nothing like Angry Birds, and, I think, more chillaxable. Angry Birds can be fun, but it can also stress me out. Tiny Wings not so much. Tiny Wings is more about pure gameplay...there's not really any strategizing to worry about.
I'd recommend Tilt to Live as another game that's good for that.

Totally addicting, took me a few tries to get the hang of it and everyone I've shown it to after I hit the first island jump they all went whoa that's pretty intense. Amazing what a "controller-less" platform can achieve within it's restraints.

I was ROBBED!
I'm on my 6th nest and just hit fever mode for 17S (per end-of-game stats).
But the game didn't record it as a completed objective.
Has anyone else had a similar problem?
(BTW, I just downloaded the game this weekend, so I think I'm up-to-date on patches.)
