Gah, posting this from a phone is difficult.

@ChuckBartowskiX

I actually made a death montage of my own (all halo related), since I'm too bad at the game to make a montage of good stuff.

If anyone is wondering the MIDI remix is of Tears for Fears - Mad World.

it's more like a cover of a cover. the original tears for fears song sounds almost nothing like this.

@DSight

The remix featured here sounds much closer to Gary Jules "Mad World" remix of the Tears for Fears original. This song (re)gained popularity through the motion picture Donny Darko. Therefore, most people associate Mad World with that movie, and that particular remix/sound.

@Cutty17 That was an awesome trailer, I played that way too many times waiting for Gears...that and the Halo 3 Ghost of Cortana trailer were my favorites. This also reminds me that Adam Lambert did one hell of a performance of Mad World on AI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PfR0JGWX62E&feature=related

Always fade out in a montage...

If you fade out it seems like more time has passed in a montage...

A great montage but it was missing one game. One game alone.....

This game has caused me the most in game deaths I have ever experienced and caused me at a young age to understand curse words.

I speak of Battletoads for the Nes. More specifically the third level. I swear I have never had as many deaths in a game, never have I see a character of mine die so many times.

Forget South Park, the original Montage song's from Team America, which is like one of the best puppet movies ever.

@Epoque Okay, after further research... I'll admit, I was wrong about which one used the song first. I do, however, stand by the statement that Team America's one of the best puppet movies ever made.

Man, so many arcade memories with Double Dragon, Rolling Thunder, Bad Dudes, Robocop, and Shinobi, only to be later disappointed with the NES versions.

Robocop wasn't actually that bad on the NES though. The one arcade game version that paled in comparison to its NES counterpart IMO was Contra.

I was hoping they were going to add Pit Fighter, Root Beer Tapper, Elevator Action, Frogger, Q*Bert, R Type, and Punch-Out among other arcade games.

This is a great bit to go alongside the 500+ fatalities video.

Old school arcade guy (35 years old, ugh) here for the assist!

-Empire City 1931 (the guy holding the lady getting shot and the green haired guy on the ground)
-Discs of Tron (not regular Tron)
-Stryder (sideways explosion - arcade version)
-Arknoid (paddle breaking apart)
-Renegade (dude getting beatin' with a stick)
-Black Tiger (guy exploding into blue smoke and bones)
-Adventure Island (kid running into snail - arcade version)
-Rygar (guy in red w/shield dying to dinosaur)
-Athena (purple haired girl w/floating heart at the end)

Still not a complete list, but getting much closer. We older gamers are still good for something eh? :)

@Shameful Sinner Actually, that's not Adventure Island, that's WonderBoy (the original Sega game that inspired Adventure Island). And there's a death for games 1 and 3. 3D Pacman is also Pac-Mania. Good to see guys who remember all those games!

Oh, Gladiator and Carrier Airwing are also there.

I agree. I wanted at least one Dragon's Lair death in there. For 50 cents a play back in the day, at least dying in that game gave you a great animated death to watch.
