Afterburner Climax and Crazy Taxi are half-off on Xbox Live Marketplace this week
30
Starting tomorrow, March 29, frugal gamers looking to dip their toes into Sega's franchise pool for something new to play will find two entries from its most iconic series to be half-off. After Burner Climax and Crazy Taxi will have their prices slashed down to $5 (400 MS Points). The sale is only extended to these two titles from Sega's staple and lasts until Friday, April 1.
After Burner Climax is the obvious choice between the two here, but if you're vehemently against The Offspring or Pizza Hut, then maybe the XBLA port of Crazy Taxi is for you. Either way, remember: you can always download the free trial first. Try before you buy, people!

I was late to the party on Afterburner but when I picked it up on the Christmas deals it was an excellent game. Well worth the price.

ugh, i was so excited for crazy taxi before it was released. then there was no offspring and i decided not to buy it for $10. now at $5?? i'm still not sure it's worth it to listen to that crappy punk replacement music.

You mean Offspring wasn't the crappy punk music included on this release? What did they put in its place that could really be worse?

@foxhound i DO know that you can do that. in fact, i did that with the trial just to see if it's the same as when i used to play it. It's not. there's a difference between in-game music and a soundtrack you have constantly running in the background even in the menus. tried the same thing with music in the new need for speed hot pursuit game. it's fun, until i'm in the menus and the music is still playing. microsoft should patch their soundtrack feature with an option for in-game only or constantly streaming. you may not feel a difference, i do. it's just personal taste.

Are you ready to make some KURAAAAAZEYYYY MONEY?!?!??
Dude. I've been holding out on getting Crazy Taxi on the XBLA because of a lack of Offspring. Half-price though? Don't mind if I do!

@OrangeGamer You can do what I'm going to do and just play the track via custom soundtrack and just smile in the nostalgia. Never understood why people complained i usually played Crazy Taxi to AC/DC anyway TNT. Im picking this up now.

Actually there's a ton more than just those two games on sale. Check out the link below (and this doesn't include the Deal of the Week)

I thought After Burner Climax was well-worth its original $10. Even if you achieve its 200G in about 4h or less, the unlockables kept me comingx. And I wasn't even fan of the original(s).

Funny story...
After playing the Crazy Taxi demo, I decided it was time to just track down a used Dreamcast and some of the games I loved playing when I had one.
Long story short, I'm getting one for free, along with about 50 games, from a friend.
WINNING!

the "sale" isn't advertised on "deal of the week" and doesn't show as a discount, it just shows the new lower price (like a price reduction)...doesn't look like you need to be a GOLD member to get the price.
hard to fathom these being sale prices at this point. especially for crazy taxi, which received horrible reviews. 400pts/$5 should be the new standard price with a sale at $2.50.

Afterburner Climax is great arcade fun - short but very nice graphics. $5 is a steal for that game... esp compared to Capcom charges you $5 for a DLC character or character outfits. SUPPORT SEGA!!

ABC is one of the most intense games you will play. Also incredibly hard at first but incredibly easy if you enable the "cheats" you earn.

Why isn't Afterburner $5 all the time? It's a much more suitable price point.
