Battlefield 3 trailer seeks out explosive situations
57
Besides taking out snipers and engaging in all out street warfare, the soldiers of Battlefield 3 are tasked with even more dangerous situations -- sneaking into a basement to take out IEDs, for instance, while earth tremors threaten to end the mission prematurely.

@(Unverified) i believe he's referring to games like motorstorm apocalypse and others that got delayed cuz of japans earthquake because there were earthquakes in the game.

@Mr Hett tremors caused by bombs falling onto a fault line. the earth is quaking, not because of an earthquake, but because of bombs falling from the sky.

EVERYTHING is inapropriate to something that actualy happend but we wouldnt be playing awesome games if they weree halted cuz of what has already happend

Man, don't you people get irony around here? You know? Jokes? Ever heard of them? Outlandish statement? Almost every word misspelled? You see where I'm going with this...?

I know they talk about the Iraq/Iran fault line tectonic plates but I don't think it's an earthquake as an earthquake produces a tremor in a generalized area that everyone feels it at the same time in that specific area, same goes for an aftershock from an earthquake. Here you see a shockwave coming from the front of you going towards you and it looks more like it comes from an underground detonation. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Think your probably right. The shockwave effect seems like that of an explosion in the sense it ripples outwards; But i've never exactly been on the edge of the epicentre of an earthquake before; so i can't exactly confirm it.
But if you've seen the shakey cam footage its unbelievable how realistic collapsing buildings look. Nevermind the way they've structured actual pavements etc.
This is going to be one of those games where you stand there for a good 5 Minutes in the centre of a full scale battle just to appreciate the scenery; forgetting the technicalities; but admiring the destruction. Lets just hope the next video will tell us about that all anticipated mulitplayer beta they've made (which... i still have to get into i believe :'( ).

i like how people think these games are higher on the pedestal than cod games. this game isnt strategic or clever at all. running out in the middle of the street and shooting at enemies while your teammates around you taking cover are getting shot? seriously, he didnt take cover once. and then the second half of the video is just him inaccurately spraying his gun everywhere.

I just hope that the console gamers get the same experience as we PC players got in BF2. They will be in for a treat. I'm not worried about the pc side for BF3.

I have to admit that I generally prefer console games to PC games, but just because I had a chance to pick up BFBC 2 on PC for $10, I decided to grab it a few weeks ago, and I have to admit that it was amzing how much better the visuals were on PC. I felt like it was a different game almost, so I agree with you there. If the new game on console is as good as the last game on PC, then that would be a treat for the console gamers.
That is one of the first times I had seen that happen where the console version was almost a joke when compared to PC, but admittedly, I don't pick up that many games on PC as I did not have a pc that could handle them until recently. I still prefer the console version and would probably purchase that one first anyway as that is way most of my friends play.

I'm glad u liked BFBC2 However, BF2 plays a bit differently than BFBC2. One example is the freedom BF2 gave you where in BFBC2, the maps are small and narrow having you to attack straight through the front where the enemy is expecting you. BF2 gave you the ability to surprise your enemy from the back. Another example is the way you communicate with tons of commands or voice chat. BC2 lacked that big time. Actually because of that, i've learned about Teamspeak 3. Anyways...which ever u decide playing BF3, the pc side will give you the full effect of how BF was meant to be played :) See you on the battlefield soldier.

I'm still excited for this game, but they should've made more cuts in the trailer. That whole shooting scene at the end went from 1:33 to 2:10 all in the same area. Eh. For a trailer, they should've broken it up more, added more variety.
