LA Noire trailer demos 'Slip of the Tongue' pre-order bonus case

There are plenty of similarities between LA Noire and Rockstar's other crime-centric franchise, Grand Theft Auto. Namely, the former contains a lot of grand theft auto. Check out the trailer for "A Slip of the Tongue," a case offered exclusively as a Walmart pre-order bonus, posted just below.

So when did Walmart start doing pre-orders and have pre-order bonuses again?

I'm going to need a round up of the DLC preorders for this game, doesn't gamestop have an exclusive downloadable chapter also?

Luckily rockstar has said that these will all be purchasable soon after release.
I'd rather do that than order 5+ different copies from EVERYWHERE and then have to pick them up and then drive them all back for returns at a later date. That's waste of gas.

I'd rather have the content in the game I'm paying $60 for.
This nickel and diming is driving me insane. "Horse armor" was bad, but gating actual interactive content like this is far worse.
Costs rise and the "justifiable" length of "addons" decreases.

Oh golly gosh this looks good.
Got a feeling it will play slightly like Heavy Rain.

Joystiq already outlined all the different DLC's. The important thing is that Rockstar has already stated that all content will be available for purchase, so you won't miss any content if you want to buy it.

I hate store-exclusive pre order bonuses! Just make one damn pre-order bonus for everyone and end it!

Then what would be the point of pre-ordering it from a certain retailer? You and your silly Communist ways. Everything is about Capitalism.

Took me way too long to figure out that "case" meant a bonus mission and not some sort of container.

When they use the wording "launch exclusive" I definitely see this as being purchasable later on. Maybe they'll put all the preorder content in one big block to buy at once?

what is your excuse for not letting us skip the ads again? AND as far as i know, they're not working. i have yet to run out and buy those new and improved maxi-pads; nor have i mentioned them to anyone.

I think you just did! I'm heading out to buy some as soon as I'm done wiping my grizzly's ass with Charmin brand restroom tissues.

I love that I can recognize actors in the trailers for this game.
For instance, the guy who says 'You have some way of proving that, sonny?" plays Zacharia in Supernatural.
This game will be incredible.

Yeah, I recognized Kurt Fuller as well. I still think the lighting on the character's faces looks weird, though. And the body animation definitely is not up to par with the facial expressions. It looks too GTA-ish (aka dated, like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bojlyPhbZqU).
Guess they have to choose on what to focus due to technical limitations.

I do see what you mean with regards to strange lighting. All these trailers look great most of the time, but sometime the characters just look off. Not really 'uncanny valley', just a little strange. Almost as if the face (particularly mouth) is jut a video pasted on a 3D model. It should still be a worthwhile gaming experience though :D

I hate all of these pre-order DLC's! I want to get the full story on day one! Bleh! You know the "GOTY" version will have all of this stuff packed in, but they deprive the fans of the content. And even though I hate it, god knows I can't wait any longer to play this game, so I'll be there on May 17th. Dammit!

I'm really excited for this game, but I really want to know how long it is. I don't want to get it upon release to have it be a 15-hour game, considering it has no multiplayer and seems like it will lack re-playability. Has anyone heard estimates?

Nevermind, I just found some info and apparently the main story will take 25-30 hours, plus more for the side cases and DLC.

Wow, I was really looking forward to playing this around the time it launched.
But with all of this retailer-exclusive DLC, I might as well just wait for the year-old edition that bundles everything together.
I can't help but think of Borderlands and Fallout 3, both awesome games that I ultimately spent $100 apiece on, after all the DLC was bought; and the combo packs can now be purchased for like $30-40. Of course, I guess there's always a premium on playing a game when it is still culturally relevant.
I'm sure I'll still buy it. Even though I am really liking the premise so far, the whole Uncanny Valley thing has me a bit keptical. I mean, c'mon... some of those videos are just plain creepy!

Entire "missions" as pre-order bonuses is BS.

@SolidSnakeEyes Especially considering last I read the main game didn't have all that many cases, under 20?
