Before cursing the heavens, realize that the Capcom-developed New Super Mario Bros. Wii arcade machine isn't what you think it is. The Mario Bros. cabinet is actually a "medal game" -- in other words, it's a series of Mario-related mini-games (slot machines and the like) that can earn players more medals (i.e. tokens). According to Siliconera, players that reach Bowser in the up-to-four-player game have a shot at winning a jackpot.
Check out a video of the game in action on the official site (click 映像紹介 at the bottom of the page).

@saturn118 Given Sega's strong arcade presence, you might want to reserve that comment in case a Sega-developed Mario arcade game comes out.

That's no arcade game. That's a pedestal where they sacrifice virgins to the plumber/deity known as Mario.
Look, it even has nubs to hook the chains on and square outlets where the blood will stream out.

Why is this still called "New Super Mario Bros. *Wii* ?" It very probably isn't running on Wii hardware (not likely with 4-player splitscreen since they'd probably want to run it in HD).
I mean, the "New" Super Mario Bros series is already a multi-platform franchise, and especially since everyone and their dog has a DS in Japan, it's not like people will be confused as to the milieu of the game if they don't see "Wii" in the title.
Why not call it "New Super Mario Bros. Arcade" or something? They could still use the strong red coloring and all the familiar logos and images of the Wii title.
