Darn. I thought this was the 1999 version. I only played the demo of the new one but I could tell I was going to like the 1999 version better.

God how I spent hours playing both AvP and AvP2 online those summer nights.

@QuePasa87 Buy some indie game you've always wanted instead. Get an audiosurf or a bit trip beat or something, just don't get this.

Haha, very sorry for the double post, but I just clicked the "Games for $5 button" on my steam and both Audiosurf and Bit Trip Beat (the latter game I've never played, so I can't honestly give a recommendation) are on sale for the same price.

@Assmar

Or add $2.49 and get super meat boy,
$5 and get Amnesia,
$8.49 and get Sanctum (that, is going to be one really neat game. Demo was awesome)

Not as cheap, but infinitey better games to spend money on.

I tried the Amnesia demo, and I'm too much of a baby to be able to play that game. Also, no 5.1 is booty. And SMB is effing excellent.

I conquer with OP as you can easily get your $5 worth of game-play.

I've been having a blast playing survival mode on Eyefinity (3 monitors). Definitely a worth-wile purchase.
(I mean come on, its 5 bucks heh.)

Nah, this game is awesome. I still play it sometimes, just because I liked it so much. 3 campaigns, each of which is fun. The multiplayer is also good, but there's less people on now.

This game attracted a lot of both positive and negative attention, as you can tell from the posts above, so you'll probably either love it or hate.

I still enjoy it.

I'm really enjoying AvP.

@Assmar and Faenix, I already own those games you mentioned. It's just $5 and I'm a nostaglic alien/predator fan. Money well spent.

It's not a great game people, but it's worth the $5, at least for the aliens campaign.

In fact, all the campaigns can be enjoyable, but unfortunately once they become so, they end.

Such a shame, could have been an awesome game.

All the campaigns are the same which doesn't help.

Seeing things from different perspectives is just another way of reusing levels to save some extra work.

I loved the multiplayer, of course people were expecting a brand new game. This however is a reskin of the classic AvP online experience by the same developers. I loved it personally, just had no support out the gate.

@Anticrawl It isn't really though. If it were just a re-skin they'd have sold more units.

This game was ass from day one. Falling through maps was common, the game is poorly balanced and degenerates into an insta-kill train.

I love both franchises and played the original AvP games on PC. This one stinks.

Which is still in beta.

And only $2 off.

Don't buy it yet. I hate to say this, because it will mean less sales for the developer, but don't buy it yet. It only has three maps, and it's pretty limited.

They are saying they are going to put in single player, and more dinosaurs. Wait to see if they do.

1 2 3 Kick It (Drop That Beat Like an Ugly Baby) looks interesting as well. Wonder if it has FLAC support.

Wait, they called that crap a critical success? As a huge fan of both series and of AvP2 on the computer, I have every inclination to say this version SUCKED. :(

@ELKMoz Regional pricing. Blame the publishers, they want their $$$ and you can either love it or shove it. But they figure that because some of us are in a country where we can't get Mortal Kombat we should pay more for the games that we can get.

@Slashee the Cow They have been screwing us price wise since the beginning of Video Games. But these days its digital.. there should be no regional pricing. Our dollar is worth more than the USD for christ sake!

I don't know what everyone's problem was with it. I loved the campaigns, and MP was a blast (though admittedly it didn't work all the time). I guess I'm a fairly big fan of the two series', but did everybody legitimately think this was a bad game, or just get swept up in criticising it with everyone else?

Ugh it's on sale for $10 here in Australia, WAY TO MAKE ME NOT BUY YOUR GAME AT ALL PUBLISHERS!

The companies that prices themselves at different (sometimes double) prices depending on region purely to rip those people off because they think they can do not deserve a cent.

All Steam prices are in USD which I don't really have a problem with, especially considering that the conversion rate is in our favor right now.
