GameStop saves you a fortune with $20 Fallout: New Vegas
42
Miss Fortune is smiling on you, friend, and motioning towards your local GameStop with her gleaming silver revolver. That's where you'll find almost all versions -- PS3, 360, PC -- of Bethesda's mighty fine post-apocalyptic RPG, Fallout: New Vegas, on sale for $20. It's probably best to act quickly if you've been wanting a copy, as there's no mention of when this 66 percent markdown expires.
Wait, did we say almost all versions? That's right: the downloadable PC version is still 60 bucks. Some would call that extra $40 for a version that doesn't even have packaging a silly mistake; GameStop would probably call it a "convenience fee."
[Thanks, Eric K.]

Boarderlands GotY is on sale for $15 at my local GS. No idea if is at all GS stores. Also... all copies of Boarderlands GotY were snatched up and purchased by the people who work there. I stopped in today and the two most recent copies they had were behind the counter waiting on two employees to come in and buy them. I guess that is the perk of working at a game store.

it's only on disc for ps3. 360 copies have a DL code.

I just picked this up on the PS3, price was too good to pass up. Buying the DLC cost more than the GoTY edition $20 price. Funny, I didn't see New Vegas there or I would have picked it up for $20 for the PS3 to complete my collection (have for 360 and PC).

Likewise... I've heard rumors of 7 planned DLC releases. Too many to actually buy individually...

I'm more concerned about them selling the PC version for $60 at all... that was $50 at launch.

You can also pick up the Collector's Edition for $30, if any Gamestop locations around you have it in stock.
Heading there tomorrow, myself.

Too bad that $20 is still going towards a broken game (X360/PS3). I am so miffed that I can't finish -- keeps freezing on me now that I'm near the end and it's unplayable. I'm talking instant freezes or within the first 5 minutes, not like oh lala it hangs every once in a while. Sorry if I sound bitter, but FO3 was one of my favorite games (platinumed) and NV is glitchier and not as fun.

Thank you...don't get me wrong I *really* want to like this game...but any console version of this is nigh unplayable.
..the only reason the PC version works at all is because you can work around the broken(ness?) if you know what your doing....and even still..you really shouldn't have to.

@boden11 I got it on PS3 right after the 1.02 update that supposedly fixed a lot of bugs. I played it about 60 hours and had a total of 5 or 6 freezes, which is about the same number that I had with Fallout 3 (on PS3 also).
I've heard tons of mixed reports... but I do know that most people started playing it immediately upon release (duh - who wasn't psyched for it??!). I didn't though cuz I was super busy with other stuff, so didn't get to start playing until early January. Maybe the save file itself was corrupted by the corrupt version that so many people started playing... heh, I dunno :)
Just saying, I had very few problems and absolutely loved the game. I do think it's crappy they released it way before it was ready, but I loved it every bit as much, if not more, than FO3.

I will wait until for an ultimate edition with dlc & patch.

I don't think Gamestop would call that anything... Boxed copy of New Vegas for $20 is good enough for me, let's not act spoiled.

@SuperJmad
They'd call it the "Buy the boxed versions just in case you want to sell it back to us and we can sell it back to someone else at full price later on." fee.

I think I'll just wait for a game of the year edition of whatever they call it. The game plus all DLC.

Now that Gamestop have aquired the means for digital distribution and try to compete with Steam and D2D, this is the future of their business model.
$60 bucks for the dl huh?

Too bad I'm broke and too bad I don't shop at Gamestop and too bad the game is a bug ridden mess. Otherwise I might consider this.

I snapped this up. Couldn't pass it.
Plus, for anyone else wanting to know, the DJ hero 2 bundle with the turntable is $30. The turntables are $10 alone, and the original game is $10 used.

It'd be a great deal if the game didn't freeze so much. It's sad that many of the issues w/ NV are the same that plagued Fallout 3. I'd rather give my money to devs like Rockstar that can make stable open-world games.

Very on the fence about wanting to pick this up now. $20 seems like a good price, but with Portal 2 and LA Noire coming up, plus eventually getting around to Dead Space 2, I don't know if this is worth getting now for the price to play later or if I should wait. I didn't love Fallout 3 like everyone else did, but I enjoyed myself when I was playing it.
Eh who am I kidding, I'll probably pick this up now.

I would say I will wait for the Big pack to come out with all the DLC and whatnot, but Id probably end up going against that and buy without thinking. Besides black ops, fallout:nv is the only game out right now that I am totally interested in playing, but yet to do so. I dont remember fallout3:goty edition coming out for pc, did they come out with that? If they didn't, I might lean toward the pc version of new vegas, and just download the DLC when I buy it online... they just better come out with multiplayer the next one...my achievements don't mean diddly to my friends.

I got it for $40 at Blockbuster a few months back, still $20 is good price for the game. With Fallout 3 i had tons of freezing issues so couldn't finish the game a second time or third time.
