Somehow I read "beasts" as "breasts" and i was like "wow joystiq way to hate on flat chested girls :(" then i started imagining what kind of horrifying game that would be.. until i realized it was beasts *phew*

My guess is because other systems give you decent titles pretty much year round. The Wii not so much it gives you a bunch of "stuff" but every so often it gives you something shamelessly awesome.

The lack of the consistent stream of decent games (not saying there are not decent games in the interim) makes that shamelessly awesome game all the more shamelessly awesome.

Sorta like opening package after package of socks at Christmas and then opening up the Wii. Like a diamond in the rough so to speak. All be I think this hurts the system as much as it helps it.

Its a competent platform and I think more developers should make an honest effort to work with it as apposed to the standard substandard not making games for it and bitching that games don't sell ..... well of course they don't if your not making decent games .....

Cool. I'm sure I'll be playing this straight after The Last Story!

Oh.

...and Xenoblade.

Oh.

Now all Nintendo needs to do is collaborate with Squeenix on a proper, balls-to-the-wall Chrono Trigger sequel on Wii and keep it sequestered in Japan.

Funny thing, Nintendo actually just registered a domain for The Last Story. It's hardly evidence of a US release, but it's something. When you think about it, Nintendo's list of Wii games for the year is pretty small at the moment.

Aye, registered websites for both Xenoblade and The Last Story, though the lack of confirmation is more likely them just not confirming their yearly lineup like they always do

Well, if they're localizing Xenoblade, they might localize this...

In any case, the battling looks like a TON of fun. Kind of a sidescroller it looks like? Some of the textures and things look terrible but I've never been much of a stickler for things like that. I'm definitely interested.

Somehow I get the sense that those of us outside Japan won't be seeing this.

Didn't like the singing (don't have a problem with the Japanese; do have a problem with the too-professional singing voice, it's not as painful as opera but heading that direction). Game looks decent, but it's just a short trailer, so who knows.

Just me or is it a little bit random that basically every big Nintendo-funded (but not in house) original-IP type game that makes people go 'wow, that looks cool, didn't expect that' seems to be an RPG of some sort. This is the third!

I mean, I like action RPGs, so if they bring it to the US (yeah, might take a while) that's great, but if Nintendo are going to bankroll games (and yes they obviously should do that), why not driving games or survival horror or shooters or whatever other genre isn't very well represented on the platform?

So, there is The Last Story, Xenoblade, Pandora´s Tower, Dragon Quest X and (even if, sadly, no one cares) Earth Seeker.
The Wii has or is waiting 5 stelar RPGs and we still has nothing... The sadest thing is that I don´t think is a good merchandise move to bring five japanese RPGs the same year so its unlikly we will see all of this.
