The Namco Bandai subsidiary will release White Knight Chronicles 2 in North America this summer, containing both the new game and a "remastered" version of the first White Knight Chronicles. Siliconera notes that, while the Japanese version forced you to start from the very beginning if you didn't already have a clear save file (really!), the Western version allows you to start at WKC2.
