@PlagueDoctor357 - 1.4 just came out, so I'm guessing 1.5 is still a ways off.

@TheAngryIntern

Thanks for the reply. Two of my friends and I literally JUST started playing when 1.4 came out.

I noticed all the glitches people complained about we weren't getting so we instantly fell in love with the game. I thought I read something about Friday updates to the game or something. Guess I was wrong.

Friday updates were something in the game a long time ago. It was mostly mundane stuff, like fences.

Now it's pretty much monthly or so.

Isn't that what the US / Candaian border is ?

Disable the soft shadows, worked for me.

Well the black screen thing happened before soft shadows were even implemented, so. Someone told me it has something to do with system memory, but I have 4 gb and it happens continuously.

This used to happen to me, but ever since i have played on "short" fog distance it hasn't.

I would recommend trying this.

Well my computer is almost brand new, I'm not gonna replace my motherboard just because some java game crashes on it. This is up to the developers.

Had this issue all the time before using win7 64-bit. Uninstalilng 32-bit Java and installing the Java 64-bit made it go away... can't explain it, but it did.

Seems you can only get Java 64-bit in windows by using Internet Explorer 64-bit when you go to download java, so keep that in mind.

I'd buy the snow and rain 'hanging out' thing. One time when I was driving from Oregon to California in the middle of a decent snowstorm and literally at the border it went from heavy snow to heavy rain. So its not 'unpossible', just highly unlikely,

Also cool beans on the weather.

I was going to say that.
Notch has broken a lot (leaves, weather) and is finally putting it back in.

I guess it's good it is, but I'd prefer new stuff. And not new mobs. Like seriously how long do I have to wait for a white alternative to obsidian, like marble.

We had snow, but it was implemented in the most horrible way possible. Basically a world could be snow, or normal. And it would never ever stop snowing. I would just reload if I got a snow world, it was freaking annoying.

I much prefer this style of weather.

Yeah, really couldn't call it "broken", more like removed since it was pretty silly back then to have an entire world in snow, or no snow at all.

@Mappyfun Actually if it put out nether blocks (which I would love to see some corruption of the land around them when you place them in the regular world) and torches ..... then it would be a huge selling point for lanterns. Which would be protected from the weather by their mysterious lanterny powers.

@bm111 Hmm. Yeah, I guess I've not tried making a forever burning log lately using a new map. My first castle of awesome is hard to part with, but it was something I started and put many many hours of work into since last July, and it still has my burning logs...

Have you gone to check on it lately? Any burning logs that were still in my old saves burnt up as soon as I got in range of them.

@bm111 Doh! your right! I did not realize that had happend (have not walked to that area in a while) It will take a few hours, but I will have to replace everthing (that burned up) with netherrack to get same effect.. but will rain put those flames out too? I wonder...

Also a roller coaster has been added across the channel from Isengard.
