Per the name, I assume Kinect sensor is required? (It doesn't say in the marketplace.)

Cross platform compatibility? Sweet!!!

But seriously, I was hoping they might map gestures to a controller just so I can see what this is all about.

No Panda... you're thinking of Movimals.

He wants to know about Kinectimals.

I'm sure that band of smiling animals is supposed to be adorable but its horrifying, you could shop that group against a burning city backdrop and it'd fit like a glove.

You should get to work on that. Make sure you replace the ball with a human head.

Kinectimals reminds me of Furby. Christmas of (whenever Furby was the new hotness) my parents bought me and my sister matching Furby's as a Christmas Eve present. During the night, I shit you not, my Furby opened its eyes, and said (in a horrifying tone) "I loveeeeee youuuuuuu". I screamed like a banshee, and threw the damn thing out my window.

Long story short: Just say no to virtual creatures that "Love" you.

@BananaBoat

A friend of mine told me a story about his sister getting one once. It was one that'd record what you say and repeat it back to you. Apparently straight out of the box it was cursing/swearing at them. They threw it under the stairs practically breaking it, and it finally went quiet. Several months after this it began to randomly start swearing again, all on it's own.

@sonicspike41 - My sisters and mine (after my parents saved it from the snow covered lawn) went into the garage, and basically haunted it until the batteries died. Every now and again, when you walked by, it would wiggle its ears, or make a goofy noise, scaring the crap out of you.

I'll say one thing: Furby was built to last. I launched mine out a second story window, and it hit a tree on the way down. It still worked. Probably because its imbued with demonic magic of some sort.

I think I am the only person in my family not excited about Kinect right now. My GF wants it for the fitness games and because Kinectimals would keep the 4 year old entertained for hours on end. I'd still rather buy this than the Move, but the game selection just isn't there.

Anyway, if this doesn't require the overpriced peripheral to play, I might download it and see what the tiny person thinks. Otherwise, what's the point? Kinectimals strikes me as one of those games that everyone with a Kinect has already purchased just to justify buying the Kinect.

YES YOU NEED KINECT!!!!!.....
Demo took long to D/L but my 3 and 6 year old girls found it really cute... I wouldn't get it cause it's going to cut into my playing time....

I think if you buy a Kinect + Dance Central then the purchase become worth it.... Dance Central is THAT GOOD

Why did they have to give them weird deformed features; should have gone down the more realistic Nintendogs route.
