Mega Man Legends 3 Project work resumes after earthquake

The Mega Man Legends 3 Project was put on hold following the devastating Tohoku earthquake. Today, in a blog post on the Japanese Legends 3 site, producer Tatsuya Kitabayashi announced that work was back underway on the 3DS sequel to the Mega Man adventure series. With the project's status frequently in question among fans, and with head Mega Man Legends cheerleader Keiji Inafune no longer at Capcom, we're happy to hear this confirmation that work continues.

In addition to donating money and conserving energy and water, Kitabayashi said that he decided to help out by "making something everyone will enjoy, to help restore positive feelings."

Yeah, that was my concern too. Still a little worried whether Keiji Inafune's departure will have any impact on the quality or not. Hoping this lives up as a worthy sequel.

Well, here is my reason to buy a 3DS in four years.

YYYYYYYEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sooooooo excited for this! I absolutely loved Mega Man Legends on PSone (although I never got a chance to play the second due to how rare it was). Totally stoked for this!

I was excited to see that it is back on the tracks until I read that it is being developed for the 3DS. Sorry, there is no interest for me in that system. Capcom needs to start being loyal to the series of Mega Man Legends and put it on the PS3/Xbox360. This or any other game will not make me want to buy a gimmick system.

I like how you see no game could convince you to buy the 3DS. So to you, it doesn't matter how great the games are, the system just can't have any gimmicks (and other companies systems certainly don't have gimmicks...)

To be fair, I don't see anything all that impressive with the 3DS either. Far as I've seen, graphics are meh, and the horrible lack of decent backwards compatibility isn't going to make me drop my fat DS which still works, for a system that can't really handle the games.

My only interest in the 3DS IS the games being made for it, but they'll have to overcome the 3DS cost in terms of value for me before I buy it.

I hope you can unlock the blond Tron skin from MvC3 in this game. Tron goes straight from Not to Hot with that outfit.
