For those who like their fantasy football league to be significantly more fantastical, Steam has reduced the price of Blood Bowl: Legendary Edition for the weekend. The usual $40 price has been sacked, knocking it down to $10. Blitz this deal quick -- it ends on Monday and there won't be overtime.

Would love to hear from people if it's worth getting for this price.

For me it was worth it at the higher price tag. The big question is, have you ever played Blood Bowl before, and did you like it? If yes, then it's a slam dunk. If no, then I'd have to know a little bit about your gaming habits and hobbies to help. A person who is only into shooters and action games probably wouldn't care for it (nobody uses the 'real-time' mode), but someone who is into board games and/or turn based strategy type of games will love it.
Also the multiplayer league play is amazing fun if you play with the right people. My only warning is that there are some people who are very very (VERY) good at this game and will ground you into paste before you know what you are doing. Also, due to the nature of the game (all the different types of teams and the way their players change throughout the season) one team or the other can definitely be at a disadvantage (sorta like playing a video sports game like Madden).
So yeah, I love it and for 10 bucks I'd recommend it to most anybody. My only real complaints are that the play-by-play is very repetitive and annoying, and sometimes the computer AI is bewildering in it's decisions. Also some people can be real babies and throw tantrums when their best players get killed or injured, but that's not really the game's fault (and it's part of what makes Blood Bowl great).

Wow, thanks for a great reply.
Never played it before (boardgame or digital) but was always intrigued by it :).
I do like boardgames, only problem is finding people to play with. Hence my interest in this. Seeing a lot of tournaments for this and might be a good way to get into this. Hopefully being an EU player won't limit me too much.
Still miffed about the Dollar == EUR Steam conversion rate though. Bah.

Just one other thing I forgot to mention because I take it for granted, but from what I've read the game does not do a great job at teaching the Blood Bowl rules. I know a lot of people download the manual from Games Workshop (pretty sure it's free) to understand what is going on. It can be very frustrating at first until you understand how the odds work. Heck, you can go peruse the free manual now to see if you'd like the game since it has all the rules.
As far as board games go it's not very confusing, but I've played Blood Bowl on and off for years now so I take knowing the rules for granted.

Been waiting for a drop on this since I started my steam account. One more game to remove from my wish list and add to the backlog.

I've been thinking about picking this up for months. I may have to take them up on this offer.

Fair warning to folks interested in this, it's got SecuROM DRM, which tends to be a royal pain in the ass. (It's mentioned in Game Details for it in Steam where it says 3rd-party DRM: SecuROM)
