WRUP: 'Chubby' or 'eating disorder' Sonic? Fight!

There is no "both" or "either" when it comes to Sonic size preference. This week's teaser trailer of the blue mascot's upcoming game brought the question to the forefront again (now more than ever): Do you prefer Sonic with a belly or his slender modern interpretation?

What's everyone playing?

Ben Gilbert (@BigBossBgilbert): All XBLA all weekend, as I'm still working on Beyond Good & Evil HD, The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile, and Pac-Man CE DX. In actuality, I'll probably just end up dancing to the menu music from Pac-Man CE DX. It's probably the best song in any video game ever.
Christopher Grant (@ChrisGrant): I'll be spending most of my weekend at my little sister's house, putting up new Sheetrock for a soon-to-be baby's room. I'm hoping to get some Dragon Age 2 in at some point but, realistically, it's probably going to be all iOS for me. Come here, sworcery.
David Hinkle (@DaveHinkle): I'll be playing with my new iPad mostly, but I've also got plans to finish Dead Space 2 (only a few chapters left!) and Crysis 2. Let the weekend of gaming commence!

Eternal Blue was awesome man. Got that as a surprise gift for Xmas forever ago (back when I was playing my PS2) - Genuine classic.

Vanguard makes insanity SO much easier.
If you're lazy you can do a Soldier run which on insanity is insanely easy after you get the vin or reverent......

@Andrew12h I finished it the other day. I was playing as a Soldier since it was my third Shepard, and the other two are my "main" maleVanguard and Renegade femShep Infiltrator. Wasn't as hard as I thought it would be to be quite honest.

Currently enjoying Dragon Quest IX and Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars.

Resident Evil on PS1 and hopefully wrapping up Monster Tale on DS. I'm playing through some of the Xbox 360 launch titles I have and got Perfect Dark Zero to get through. Not bad in an Xbox gen game sort of way.

Crysis 2 multiplayer with friends

With myself... just kidding I am currently playing Disaster Report.

Final Fantasy 6 on the PS1 with the girl.
Still sitting on Bulletstorm and DA 2 for myself.

I prefer the chubby Sonic. Right now I am playing Chu Chu Rocket on iPod touch. It was free yesterday :)

After all this time... I'm still playing Battlefield Bad Company 2.. although I have branched out, also playing DoW2:Retribution, the Last Stand mode is the funnest mode to me so far. It's too bad there is only the two maps (?).

Other than that, a bit of MvsC3 and SOCOM 4 beta...

SOCOM 4 Beta, a few iPad games (including Sword & Sworcery), and maybe start Dead Space Extraction with Move...

Sega went medieval on Sonic when his games started sucking and stuck him in the stretching torture device. That explains modern Sonic's appearance.
Classic Sonic was already cool, they didn't need to turn him into Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (or Kyle from a certain episode of South Park).
I was a big Sonic fan back in his Genesis years, but nowadays I'm still scarred from stuff like Sonic Heroes.

@Omnistatic Honestly, especially as a kid, I liked Sonic 3(&Knuckles) better than 2. The saving feature was bad ass, the experience was bigger, and better bonus stages... God did I hate the ones in sonic 2.

Well, technically Sega went medieval on Sonic in Sonic and the Black Knight for the Wii.

Red Dead and some Pokemon Black

Went and traded in my copies of Fable 3 and my Xbox 360 version of New Vegas for the PC version of New Vegas yesterday. I bought a new computer in January and I am never playing Bethesda games on console again.

Oh, and classic Sonic. How is this even a question?

That screenshot there kind of makes chubbso sonic look a little funky, but when you play the trailer, it's just good old graphic goodness.

Classic Sonic all the way, man.

I'll be switching between Ridge Racer 3DS, Pokemon Black, and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.

I'm pondering the endless frustration that is raising Tynamo in Pokemon White. The only way this thing has Magikarp beat is in moveset, but otherwise its the same story: stuck in suck mode until the first evolution.

The problem i'm seeing is that the online Pokedex claims Elektrik learns Discharge at a level lower than the level at which it evolves. Anyone have any insight on that?

I'd just use a Heart Scale... To get moves under which a pokemon evolves is obtained that way. ...or by hacking a Lv1 evolved pokemon and leveling it to see it's Learn sets.

Just got back from watching Insidious; not bad in a jumpy kind of way although some really daft moments too.

Anyhew, I'll out and about in the real world this weekend so probably iOSing. Chu Chu Rocket was free so will attack that, the other Jeff Minter game I got (Solar Rescue) and my current fave, Perfect Cell. Kind of a cross between Metroid and Shadow Complex and as addictive as hell. At 99 cents its a steal.

I prefer the new sonic because he actually looks fast and better in a fight and just more bad ass then the chubby notastalga filled old sonic. I still like the chubby sonic and would love to have a patch of him but for games the. I'd rather have the slender sonic.

Still trying to get Platinum in NFS Hot Pursuit. Hyper events are kickin my butt.

Maybe also toying around some more with Pokemon White. Haven't made it to the second gym yet.

Recently picked up Pokemon Black. Also working on Mirror's Edge, Tony Hawk's American Wasteland and Marvel vs Capcom 3.

I finally, finally got all the achievements in FNV, after only 500 something hours, and can finally move on to all the games i've missed since January. Or at least, I would, if I didn't feel compelled every year around this time to beat GTA IV again.

Old-school Sonic makes me think of my childhood. New Sonic makes me think of furries and god-awful 3D platformers. So yeah... old-school Sonic.

I'm playing Radiant Historia, Knights in the Nightmare, Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume and Resonance of Fate.

Just finished up Bulletstorm, now it's onto some of my back catalog while I wait for NFS Hot Pursuit to come. Star Wars Force Unleashed and AC2.

God of War collection and Episodes from Liberty City. Why yes, I am a cheap ass gamer who likes to buy multiple games on the one disc.

I just got back from seeing Iron Maiden live. Fantastic show. Other than that
Heavy metal goodness, I think I'll do some Red Dead Redemption, given that I recently got my hands on a copy. I'm taking my time and doing sidequests.

Also LoL and my second playthrough of Dragon Age II will continue at some point.

Time for Sonic to lay off the chili-dogs.

They established in-game (Sonic and the Black Knight) that skinny Sonic up there likes chili-dogs too, so that's not the difference :P

So far, beat 1942 (in an easy mode) for the first time ever and also set new personal best scores in Commando (normal difficulty) and 1943 (an easy mode, to unlock some stuff). Tried Gun.Smoke and found it pretty hard. Pending: probably some Ys I & II Chronicles, Trails in the Sky, NeoGeo Heroes: Ultimate Shooting, Neptunia.
