Civilization 4 and 5 marked down for Amazon Deal of the Day

When it comes to kicking off a campaign of wholesale world domination, there really is no time like the present. Actually, there's doubly no better time than the present, as both Civilization 4: The Complete Edition and Civilization 5: The Only Edition are on sale today through Amazon.

$25 for Civ IV is a sale? I bought the Complete Edition off of Steam for $10 like a year ago.
Decent price for V, though, and V is awesome, so you should probably buy it.

I wish Civ 5's DLC would go on sale on Steam :\

I wish the DLC was on sale, just spent $20 on the new civs, they are nice, but definately not worth that kind of cash.
I like the game though, it's a little easy to defend your cities and to take the AI's but fix the AI brains and it could be a winner. Also Iron is too powerful!

Yes Civ4 is overpriced here, but honestly Civ5 is a piece of junk. It's a bad game, through and through - google for the various "civ5 sucks" threads and you'll see what's what.

As a person who's only had small dealings with the Civ community, I have to agree here. People hated on Civ IV ALL. THE. TIME. back when it released. Now I come back a few years later and hear Civ IV was awesome (wa?) because Civ V is terrible (double wa?). I mean, is it just me or is this just another case of "newest game is 'terrible'. Previous game is 'awesome' by default. When new one releases that one will be 'terrible'. Game previously thought to be 'terrible' will now move up to 'awesome'".

I don't know why "Civilization 5: The Only Edition" made me laugh, but it did.

People should keep in mind that it is 2K Games sale week on Steam and I'd be blown away if 1. they didn't put the Civ series on sale and 2. It would be much cheaper on Steam.

@djtyrant When the 2K Games went on sale during the Christmas sales, Civ 5 was exempt from the sales, and eventually Civ 5 went on sale its self but the DLC was never on sale.
They've been especially stingy over this.

this sale isn't good. I bought Civ IV complete over a year ago for 7.50 on steam, and I bought Civ V for $20 about a month ago at Green Man Gaming
