I predict a resurgence of the "599 U.S. dollars" meme when the NGP price is announced.

@ItsameMatt03 I really doubt it will cost that much.

It's really just tablet parts made into a handheld. Being that much off the shelf has got to reduce costs down to a manageable level.

Well, everybody from gamers to analysts said the PS3 wouldn't cost more than $299 and well...

They are packing an impressive array of tech in the NGP, and I'm afraid it's going to be at a high price. Sony even has stated that they intended to price the PS3 at $500 and $600 in the first place simply to display the value, and they said they wouldn't have changed anything about the way they handled it. I'll say they will go with a similar strategy with the NGP.

@ItsameMatt03 I don't think they intended to price it as $599, that's what they had to sell it at to reduce the loss. there was a damn good reason it dropped in price so fast. The Cell and BD-rom were way under yield and very expensive at the time.

The NGP doesn't have the same downfall. The parts will shortly be in other products, and are based on established tech. Neither the Cell or BD-rom had that luxury at the time, both were quite new technologies.

50 - 60 I'm guessing. If they really feel they can make games playable on both PS3 & this, then they'll sell it that way. "Why buy the PS3 version for 60 bucks when you can get it cheaper on the NPG?" They'll want to avoid that scenario.

@Prboi I see it as the opposite. Why would I pay $60 for the NGP version if I can get the superior PS3 one?

@mguniverse I'd say $50 tops. $60 is way to much for portable games. $50 is just about right for the near console quality games NGP is capable of.

DS games are pretty much 40 bucks. If 3DS games are 40 - 50, the NPG's games will be 50 - 60 being that they're supposed to spart Sub-HD graphics

It depends on where you're from. Japan loves their mobile products so they'll go for the handheld versions. NA & Europe usually prefer consoles over handhelds so they'd get that version.

And because you can really enjoy your game on a 5 inch screen vs 52 inch screen at home with 3D build in. You can take advantage of Move controller also.

There is more value in a PS3 game then in NGP one.

...*sigh* who am I kidding. They're going to announce Wii Garden: NOW WITH REALISTIC HOE ATTACHMENT!

I'm taking the day off work, myself. Traditionally Monday morning is the Microsoft press event. Sony usually waits for Tuesday, but I guess they feel the need to get things started a day early this year.

So with all the press coverage between the two pressers happening the same day, it's going to be too maddening to go to work and try to keep up with everything all at the same time.

Goddamn, the unwarranted hate for Home has gotten really annoying.

2. it makes Sony boatloads of cashmoney

I enjoy E3 week. I'm gonna be on vacation from work that whole week

Sony last few conferences have been good. I hope they announce/show a lot of stuff. I wanna see a PS3 Syphon Filter and I wanna see some Agent footage.

I honestly can't wait to see what the big 3 has in store for the future and what games are gonna be announced there as well.

Wow isn't this a change for Sony? Didn't they always in past years have their press conference on the Tuesday of E3 week? (If so, that is a good thing because now alot more people will go to the press conference instead of the show floor.)

They better change their format for this year's press conference. The past few years have all been charts & trailers for Sony. Last year had a couple live demos but nothing big. I expect the NPG will take up the bulk of the show though

Agreed. The new handhelds will probably dominate both Nintendo's and Sony's presentations, with MS likely focusing on Kinect.

Hmmm.

Now that I think about it, this might not be the most exciting E3 if it pans out like I'm imagining... I'm sure there will be some surprises in there.
