When I asked for a proper crash mode, I didn't mean I wanted it to be the entire game....

I think they understood us correctly. crash mode was like the only reason i played the burnouts until paradise. thank you criterion!

@Ezio Auditore da Firenze

Or, you know, they could try something different and everyone could just shut up about it.

Not everything needs to be a perfect sequel.

What's wrong with having this now and a better paradise-like game later?

Ever hear of over-saturation? They did it last gen and it could have ended the series horribly.

We all know how doing the same thing over and over again worked so well for Tomb Raider, Need for Speed and THPS...

Paradise is one of my favorite games from this generation...first game I went platinum on as well. Hope this is good. Would be nice if a Paradise save unlocked extra stuff.

As long as Criterion is developing it, it's a Day 1 purchase for me.

I'm sure the life expectancy of Crash City's inhabitants are less than thrilling too.

What inhabitants? No Burnout game has ever had inhabitants. just sentient cars racing around and exploding like a world of insane KITTs.

@PN04 That's because these cars became sentient! Must've went Skynet all over the place.

What do you think the insurance prices are in Crash City?

I would have preferred a full game in the style of Burnout Revenge and with crash mode added back.

Not sure I would pick it up JUST for crash mode. I didn't get into Burnout Paradise because it was not as exciting to play to me.

Crash mode was my favorite part of Burnout 3. It wasn't as good in Burnout Revenge and it was missing from Burnout Paradise. If Criterion puts out a game that's nothing but Crash Mode, I'll scoop it up. XBLA? Even better.

Can violence exist in a world only inhabited by cars? That's some deep shit right there.

Geez if you guys like the old crash modes why dont you go marry them. It's not like anything's stopping you from going back and playing them so why complain that the developers are actually going against the standard of just slapping a new coat of paint on an old game and upping the number by one the way a lot of other sequels tend to do. They should be applauded for trying new things (..well that is even if the things they do only involve cars).

Crash mode was the biggest reason that I loved the burnout series. I was very disappointed that it morphed into Showtime. Simply not the same. Crash mode is more like a highly complicated trick shot in pool. Success is dependent on both skill and strategy. The strategy component is missing from Showtime. It is replaced there with a random "luck" element.

I love kicking back with a Crash intersection and finding out how to maximize my score.

I hope that they setup the beginning of each intersection exactly the same. If the initial setup has variables, the added random element will spoil it for me.
