A series of job openings in EA Montreal's Visceral Games division point unsurprisingly to ongoing projects associated with the studio's homegrown Army of Two franchise, as well as for Dead Space. Positions for a senior producer, art director and lead environmental artist for Army of Two have been posted on the EA jobs site, in addition to a number of non-franchise-specific roles.
Also of note, the studio is looking for a senior development director for the Dead Space franchise, in addition to a lead writer (in English) and senior AI programmer for a "new action adventure IP."
The EA Montreal location includes Visceral Games Montreal, EA Mobile, BioWare Montreal and other groups. The now Visceral-branded studio is best known for its pair of Army of Two games, which have sold millions -- fist bump! -- despite mixed critical reception. Additionally, the Montreal studio collaborated with EA's Redwood Shores outfit to develop Dead Space 2.
While EA has made no official statement about new iterations of these franchises, we clearly haven't seen the last of them. And you can put your bro on that!

Oh.
Another Army of Two game.
Because the public at large was clamoring for a sequel.
Delightful.

I mean they aren't bad games, but if they never made a 3rd I wouldn't exactly be sad about it.

Their different 'devs'. If Mirrors Edge get's a number 2 it will probably be by DICE again.

Both Army of Two games were developed by EA Montreal.
The same team responsible for much of EA's Wii titles (Boogie, Skate It, SSX Blur, Spore Hero).
In fact, Army of Two was the studios first foray into PS3/360 territory.
It's only a "Visceral IP" in the sense that they will be developing the new one.

Which is to say, that while Visceral is a part of EA Montreal, they were not the development team that tackled the first two games in the franchise.

So are they going to finally let Salem and Rios express their long-denied feelings for each other?

The thought of that never crossed my mind, but thinking about it now, that would be awesome! The NGP has so many possibilities, it would be silly to ignore them

Agreed.
Though now that I think about it, Dead Space 3DS would be pretty cool, too. Depth of field on dark, creepy corridors could really work!

Absolutely not, sir.
It's bad enough that those goddamned necromorphs come crashing out of the air vents.
And the elevators.
And the toilets.
But the second they start popping out of the f*cking screen itself??
No.
I simply cannot afford risking actual poop coming out of my butt when I'm playing 3DS on the train.

If they can make a good Army of Two game, I'd totally buy it. I think the concept is good, they just need to implement it well. This new "action adventure IP" will also be something interesting to keep an eye on

I hope whoever developed the first Army of Two game does the third one. 40th Day sucked!!

@754boy Both were EA Montreal (but which team within I have no idea) I definatly prefered the first one, it was more personal, seemed to have a better leash on the AI buddy, or at least it seemed to cope better in the first
I remember one part in 40th, you were coming from a bottleneck, so needed to flank by one of you heading over a fence.. If you went over, got him to hold position he was too close for the cover to be of any use to him... then reguardless of who went over, if you left him on advance he would run around to you after going over the fence & get taken out.. this was followed up by a heavy with no checkpoint between.. that co-op-AI really needed some self preservation dialed in -_-

Loved the first Army of Two. Second one wasn't so great. Maybe having whoever works on Dead Space franchise will make it into an awesome third person shooter?

The only way they can possibly make an "Army of Two 3" is if the plot centers around a third guy joining their squad... and he turns out to be the half-brother of both Salem and Rios.

@kgoo867 Mirrors Edge 2 woul have to be done right, needs more parkour, and less using guns (ie none)... the way it was going by the end of the first game it would have ended up as Brink

Hopefully these guys can bring back the fun in Army of Two. They took out so many of the shenanigans in the sequel in favor of a more serious tone.

It might have something to do with the first Ao2 game selling more than twice as many copies as Mirror's Edge.
Maybe.

I think Army of Two can still be a promising game. The concept is good, they just need to dumb down the "bro-ness".... waait does that even make sense ... ?
Anyway, the game needs to go down a more serious path without the stupid shenanigans from the first two ... perhaps a re-boot with new characters, settings ,etc?

How about if EA patched the DLC for the last Army of Two game that they ripped-off everyone with first? Whichever one of these blog sites actually ask EA's J.R. why they have such shitty support for their games will get my undying respect and loyalty (not that it's much).
They're the biggest company and every smaller publisher typically will pump out a patch within 1~2months and even say they're sorry...not some bullshit response like "we're looking into it" and then not do shit

I can't get enough of these buddy games like AoT and K&L, because they're the closest thing to an action movie back when they were still awesome - the 80's, although I'm getting pretty tired oo geting burned by EA
