Good for them. Most people get bored of their jobs long before 11 years and never have the courage to try something else.

Madden has a "creative" director role?

Seriously, though, I wish him luck in whatever he plans to do next.

They'll likely attract some of the students over at Full Sail. That too, is in Winter Park.

I never like it when the Creative Director of all people leave projects--especially during development. It has me bite the nails, just as I am with the fact that Patrice Desilets and Jade Raymond left Assassin's Creed. But as long as they keep some of the creative influence. For instance, Assassin's Creed still has their writer.

@Shadowbender wha? When did Jade leave? How are they going to sell a million copies by having her talk about it at E3 now?

@Shadowbender

More like "professors" from Full Sail. Other than Larry Santaw all of the guys working in computer animation were competing for the same job as graduates. That was the biggest problem with the school in my opinion.

@TheDarkWayne

I personally think Assassins Creed is the best new franchise this generation. Huge fan of each game. Now, I would like more worthwhile DLC for sp. The Da Vinci DLC was pretty lame for sp and I don't play ACB mp. It was basically the same as the Copernicus DLC ... Which was free.

@Shadowbender Madden is already halfway through alpha; they aren't making creative direction changes at this point so that's why Ian said it's in good hands.

@BtheCarp Read his twitter responses -- for even small feature changes like the "controversial" GameFlow, people send him death threats. People really need to get a life.

So he won't be the one bestowing the title of Cover Player to Aaron Rodgers in a couple weeks.

Matter of time. He put himself out there into the community more than any other major game developer, ever, with thousands of posts on the major gaming forums... And he just got ripped incessantly on those sites... It was a matter of time before he bowed out.

Ian Cummings was a bit of a genius considering how young he was when he took over and rebuilt Madden. But honestly.... he was a huge dick. Looking forward to see how the new director will take Madden.

Hmm I wonder where I can apply for his position? I have a laundry list of ideas that can fix Madden and make it fun again.
