WB registers 'Batman: Impostors' domains, XBLA game rumored

Back in February, there was a rumor going around, based on a few listings at UK retailers, that Warner Brothers was working on a Batman game specifically made for Xbox Live Arcade. At the time, the rumored title was "Gotham City Impostors," but with little more than that the story sounded as believable as Jason Todd coming back to life.

But now, Superannuation has unearthed registrations by Warner Brothers for the BatmanImpostors.com web domain, as well as BatmanRedHoods.com and BatmanHushGame.com. Now, the story seems about as likely as ... Jason Todd coming back to life.

Of course, this doesn't confirm an XBLA game -- Warner Brothers could just be registering these in advance of the Batman: Arkham City release, or picking them up for some unrelated reason. Impostors, as it is spelled, is a storyline from Detective Comics last year, while Hush is a well-known Batman villian. Keep your Detective Vision turned on, folks.

All I gotta say is, anything Batman would be cool. XBLA would be sweet, if not, just make more animated films like Under the Red Hood.

It's strange - I thought Under the Red Hood was a rather weak comic book arc, but it made one of the best Batman animated movies.

I still want my Batman Batman Batman.

I would love a 2D Batman XBLA game, like Batman: The Brave and The Bold.

I love that pic. Jim Lee is amazing. He and Frank Miller are easily the two best artists to ever draw the superhero in my opinion.

You must not have followed any of the original stuff. Kane can best draw the Bat. The newer stuff by Finch with Morrison is pretty fantastic too.

Nah I just love Miller and Lee. Never cared for Finch (Scott Silvestri knock off since he came from that studio) and well lol of course I know who Bob Kane is but I don't care for the look.

I agree that Jim Lee draws a great Batman, but Frank Miller's interpretations are a little too stylized for me. My vote goes to Lee Bermejo. He does such a perfect job of showing the darkness and internal anguish of the character without the need for a single word.

I love Hush. One of the better stories written in recent times.

It better not be an XBLA exclusive.

Because I want to play it? I wouldn't care if Xbox users got PS3 console exclusive DLC. Furthermore, it's Batman. Why would they limit their potential consumer base for a well known intellectual property?

I still don't see why you would call him a fanboy for lamenting over exclusives.. I own an Xbox 360 and I remember wishing Little Big Planet or resistance could some how be available for it. Now, would you call that fanboyism, or just dissapointment in not being able to play a game I'm interested in?

I have zero interest in the AAA exclusives that Microsoft has acquired this generation (Fable, Halo, Gears of War)...but all the games on XBLA that aren't on PSN?

Seriously, between Ikaruga, Banjo-Kazooie (and to a lesser extent, Tooie), Perfect Dark, Super Meat Boy, Limbo and Anything by Twisted Pixel, my aversion to spending money is waning considerably.

But a f*cking Batman game? You win, Microsoft. In fact, this same situation has happened to better men than I...

Haha, I'm in the same boat. I'm not all that interested in the 360 exclusives but I almost bought a 360 last year just because of their XBLA games that I want to play. However, with my insane backlog, I knew it would just be making the backlog worse and I'd probably never spend much time playing the 360.

Am I the only person that played the Assassin's Creed games pretending I was Batman? Always hoped Ubisoft could pick up that license.

Could this xbla arcade stuff be something episodic maybe? I dont read the comics enough to know if that makes sense.
