Yes! I never had a chance to play the original, so I've been wondering if they would re-release the original for the consoles.

I've always wanted to play it.

So they're not going to do a Valve and give us the prequel for free? Well, I guess that's okay. Just not great.

@VeeDeeVee

Well, they are giving it away for free when you buy it. Just like Portal comes free when you buy Portal 2. Pulling a Valve is exactly what they're doing.

@VeeDeeVee "A person who's purchased Madness Returns gets a download code and is able to bring Alice 1 onto their console and play through the entire original game alongside playing Madness Returns."

Sounds like it's free to free to me.

Whoa.

This is, without a doubt, the best pre-order DLC ever.

Ever ever.

@Urethra Alfredo

Better than the Zelda: Wind Waker coming with Ocarina of Time + Master Quest?

Better than Gamestop offering the impossible to find Shadow Hearts 1 for free with the purchase of Shadow Hearts: Covenant?

Better than Portal 2 coming with free Portal or Every THQ game for the last few years coming with Red Faction: Guerrilla?

Best ever? Probably not. Pretty damn good? Yep. ;)

Damn, I don't know why you got downvoted for that.

I never knew GameStop gave away a copy of Shadow Hearts with every SH: Covenant pre-order.

That is pretty bad ass.

@This Little Man Says His Name Is

Right you are.

Though that doesn't really change the awesome at work here.

I've been wanting to play the first game for quite some time now. This certainly will help in that regard.

I bet this won't happen and EA will not allow it. Admittedly I am a biased EA hater.

@Cranky Penguin

They did include Dead Space Extraction w/ DS2, and MoH Frontline with Medal of Honor, so this isn't too far-fetched, really..

With that kind of attitude, EA won't give us the first Alice.

They'll give us American McGee's Bad Day L.A, instead.

Because that's what mouthy little shits get rewarded with.

I have the original, but it would nice to see it again with updated graphics (though doubtful). I haven't tried to install my old copy on Windows 7 yet, so who knows if it still even works?

@Meekermoloko it's a bit pitiful that newer PC's can't run some things from 2000 without an emulator...I mean...c'mon...

That's not a problem with windows.

You can find a few videos on youtube of people doing upgrade installs of windows starting from dos up to 7 and the programs they installed on dos still work.

@bgardner

I'm talking about certain titles like Crusader that can't run natively under Windows 7, not that today's machines don't have the power to handle them.

I really do hope this is true. I plan to get it either way but to be able to get the original as well would be awesome. I had to barrow a copy originally since I missed it the first time around

insta-buy.

I remember getting a copy of this from my cousin at EA...

but my PC was too wimpy to handle it (I think that's when I still was using a 486 DX2 66). So, needless to say, I couldn't play it.

I played the first one a long time ago. It was amazing, but I was stupid and sold it.
I have been regretting that for a good few years now.
If they really are bundling the original with Madness Returns, even as download only, that would be AMAZING!

It's moved to the 'maybe' category.
