McGee: Alice sequel to include original game as DLC bonus

Alice: Madness Returns will include the original Alice, according to Spicy Horse head American McGee. Speaking to CVG, McGee said, "A person who's purchased Madness Returns gets a download code and is able to bring Alice 1 onto their console and play through the entire original game alongside playing Madness Returns."

Additionally, McGee teased that the Alice sequel would see plenty of DLC ... dresses, which "come with special abilities and enhance how you play through the game."

Curiouser and curiouser, an EA representative told Joystiq, "Unfortunately, we do not have information in regards to Alice: Madness Returns including the original Alice game." Either way, Alice: Madness Returns is slated for June 14 ... unless it's not. Madness, right?

Yes! I never had a chance to play the original, so I've been wondering if they would re-release the original for the consoles.

I've always wanted to play it.

So they're not going to do a Valve and give us the prequel for free? Well, I guess that's okay. Just not great.

Well, they are giving it away for free when you buy it. Just like Portal comes free when you buy Portal 2. Pulling a Valve is exactly what they're doing.

I've been wanting to play the first game for quite some time now. This certainly will help in that regard.

This rumored better be true for PC. I miss the old Alice and I want to replay it.

I bet this won't happen and EA will not allow it. Admittedly I am a biased EA hater.

With that kind of attitude, EA won't give us the first Alice.

They'll give us American McGee's Bad Day L.A, instead.

I have the original, but it would nice to see it again with updated graphics (though doubtful). I haven't tried to install my old copy on Windows 7 yet, so who knows if it still even works?

@Meekermoloko it's a bit pitiful that newer PC's can't run some things from 2000 without an emulator...I mean...c'mon...

That's not a problem with windows.

You can find a few videos on youtube of people doing upgrade installs of windows starting from dos up to 7 and the programs they installed on dos still work.

I'm talking about certain titles like Crusader that can't run natively under Windows 7, not that today's machines don't have the power to handle them.

I really do hope this is true. I plan to get it either way but to be able to get the original as well would be awesome. I had to barrow a copy originally since I missed it the first time around

I remember getting a copy of this from my cousin at EA...

but my PC was too wimpy to handle it (I think that's when I still was using a 486 DX2 66). So, needless to say, I couldn't play it.

I was already thinking of getting this and since I haven't played the first one this practically guarantees that I'm on board.

Nice. I was going to buy the original PC game to prep for the sequel and am so glad they decided on this. Great move!

not to be a total dirty whore but I hope the original is a arcade release that has an additional 200 cheeve points. just sayin'.

I played the first one a long time ago. It was amazing, but I was stupid and sold it.
I have been regretting that for a good few years now.
If they really are bundling the original with Madness Returns, even as download only, that would be AMAZING!

Especially now that it sells for around $75 minimal.

The first one was fantastic, I was already going to play this new one but now I have even more reason to get it.

will this also be Available for XBLA or bonus only ?

This sweetens the pot, I've never played the first. At least now I will check out what the word on the street is when this launches.
