Do you remember that original teaser for Super 8, in which a train crashes and something lets itself out of a train car? This is like that, except interactive (thanks, Source Engine!), and it takes place from the point-of-view of someone inside the train. You can find it in that copy of Portal 2 you've undoubtedly already purchased or, if you're still stuck at work like we are, watch a video after the break.
Portal 2 contains an 'interactive teaser' for JJ Abrams' Super 8

Buried in Portal 2's "Extras" menu is an "interactive teaser" for Super 8, this summer's J. J. Abrams-helmed sci-fi monster movie. "What exactly is an interactive teaser?" you ask, half-knowing the answer.

I'd be interested to see someone open this up in the Hammer editor and really pick it apart.

Hey Joystiq, there's this little indie title called 'Portal 2' that released today... I think. Do you mind reviewing it, so I can decide if I should purchase it or not?
None of the other gaming websites have even heard of this budget title, so I am depending on you. Don't let me down. Please!

EA had a little shipping issue, so Justin is cranking through it today (poor guy, I know). Hope to have something up for you tomorrow.

I have money to purchase, but I'm supposed to give that money to someone for something they sold me. I don't want to do it, but I...just.....GOT TO!

Joystiq is getting ready for 4/20. They could review Portal 2, or prepare for the Hippie New Year! So many tough choices to make today for Joystiq. :)

Product placement and expensive hats for sale, is this portal or an EA sports title?

So don't buy the hat and just play the game. I don't understand the hate with that issue. Get over it and yourself.

Famous developer known for their treatment towards fans, and refusal to do paid DLC, saying that's cheap, ontop of rolling paid DLC into another game, releases new game with $90 worth of DLC.
Yes, we're a little surprised.

Anyone else want a super 8 game now?
I'd even settle for more short atmospheric teaser's like this (for movies where its appropriate)

For the record, Best Buy didn't give me that $45 price. Somebody lied.

$45 w/$10 gift card was for pre-orders. I had planned to just walk in and pick it up (which is ironically faster than in store pick up) but when I saw BB's Sunday ad w/Portal 2 at $60 I quickly pre-ordered.

my question is why was this in Portal 2? They could have placed this on their storefront or something. Granted yes its their engine and they made is for Super 8 but again why tie this into their game?

I don't like how Steam put "psn_" in front of my name when creating a steam account.

You COULD call it an interactive teaser, OR you can it an ad in a game :)
I guess you could also call some of the pages in magazines non interactive yet immersive self-contained experiences for new products worthy of consideration

I heard that "Super 8" refers to a group of 8 government created super-teens. Superpowers.

I clicked on this in the Portal 2 menu without really looking at it and thought it was a preview for Half-Life2: Episode Three. When I went back to the menu and saw "Super 8" I was actually a little disappointed. Yes, I'm one of those sniveling fools desperate for the next installment from the HL universe. Sue me.
