Hopefully free, but I'd still consider paying a couple of bucks for it.

@KiDPANDA Apparently you don't know how Nintendo prices it's online content.
This will be $5 MINIMUM! I wouldn't be surprised if it's 8 or 10.

In Japan it costs 200 yen($2.40). I would expect it to cost 200 Nintendo points here.

Nintendo Points are dead. Everything will be real-world money on the 3DS and Nintendo's next home console.

As for paying for a demo... Minecraft. If Capcom goes down a similar route for Legends 3 then this could be interesting. Constant updates as the game goes along? Well worth $5-10. One would hope that at the end of it, Capcom would offer prototype owners some freebie or money off the actual game when it's released... But that's extremely doubtful.

As much as I really want this game, I just want to play as Mega Man. Why the need for another playable character?

Ohai, Axl.

I am going to pretend that I did NOT just see him air-dash-kick a Bonne mech in the face.

Graphically, it looks great. But not only do I not want crap like air-dashing in a DASH game, I don't want to have to play as that asshole.

The fact that Nintendo is even doing something like this gives me a lot of hope for their next home console. I'd like to think that they are finally going to take online gaming/services seriously.

I don't know what to think of this game.

Megaman Legends is my favorite game so I want to be excited, but at the same time it doesn't seem like Capcom really knows what it wants to do with Legends 3.

Honestly, I would have preferred a 360/PS3 version since Megaman has been absent from major console games for a while. I can always play Megaman Legends on PS1 again if I want something similar to what I liked before. This time I want something new.

The gameplay of Barret looks promising so hopefully Legends 3 comes together well.

Too bad it's not the actual game coming out that day but this is still exciting. I'll download it straight away. My guess is it may cost, just like DuoDecim Prologue, but then again, I dunno. I hope not, but it's not like a few dollars towards Capcom would hurt.

By conversion rates the game should be about $2-2.50, which is perfectly fine for a price on something like this, given that it's completely different content (I'm guessing) from the main game. It worked well for the pay-for demo of Dead Rising 2 and it'll probably work here too.

Now to find a friend with a 3DS or hope Capcom announces an NGP version of the game at E3.

They've having their fans pay for the privilege of testing the prototype and providing the desigenrs with pre-release, pre-review feedback that will hopefully create a better final product.

A win-win, really... As long as fans don't go in expecting it to be more than it is.

@Vesuvium I know, I want to keep optimism because I loved the series as a kid. But Capcom is still stuck in the weird anime-ish feel for their games.

It's not a demo, it's got an ESRB rating. Either it's like Phantasy Star Zero Mini on DSiWare, or Nintendo is making developers rate demos, which would be odd and a bad move.

@(Unverified) It's a demo, which is a portion of a full game that's offered to get a preview of what the full version offers. That's what this is and the main difference is that they're charging for it like Square did for the Dissidia 2 Prologue.

Capcom, nickel and diming us since 2009... and when no one buy's their "bad" games they point the finger at us and start crying when they should be the ones to have the finger pointed. but ya know, GOTTA SAVE FACE to the shareholders.

@daniamrichv1

I don't see how this is nickel and diming. Unfortunately the Legends brand hasn't exactly been a best seller for Capcom, and with something like this they can gauge the interest in the title and perhaps finally greenlight the project.

Plus you could also see it as being like the Dead Rising 2 prologue which was a glorified demo, but had different content than the real game.

I would have loved to play a version designed for the PS3.

Give me the MGS3 "The Naked Sample" that was shown at E3 and we seem to have a pretty decent e-store launch offering atm.
