@Mrguy you know that guy

Wish we could say that to the DSi too. There shouldn't be 3 DSs on the market.

DSL is only good for GBA games right now due to DSiXL and 3DS. Hopefully Nintendo will do some GBA VC with the 3DS.

With the same money they're asking for if they do indeed sell GBA VC, you could go out and buy the damn console.

This is sad and all (great system, but I'm glad I got rid of mine when they'd still give me $50 towards a 3DS) but I think we're ignoring the fact that at the top of the screenshot it looks like they're already only offering $25 each for two games that are only 4 days old!

That is ridiculous. Craigslist and eBay are better options for selling used games or buying used, fairly new games. You know GameStop will charge $54.99 for these

I recently fired up my DS Lite for the first time in years. The casing still seems up to date but the small low-res screens really showed their age. I had a lot of fun with that portable (and the DS Phat before that), but I have to admit I'm one of the ones that has shifted to iOS gaming. RIP DS Lite!

I have an iPod as well. And I miss Nintendo handhelds. The selection of games on the I-devices is lackluster, with only a few good games in a pile of shovelware. At least the DS has Nintendo's first-party games to make up for that. Once Apple starts making games themselves (which will likely never happen), OR they enforce some sort of quality control, then I will be happy with the iPod as a gaming machine.

Ah the DS Lite, the model that brought sexy back to the DS line. I remember the leaked images of it, and how everyone thought it was fake, and it looked "like a Macbook." Good times.

@Chibi Chaingun

The iPod just can't compare to the DS (or any handheld). Touchscreen-only games are only good for certain genres, mostly puzzle and RTS-style games.

I have an iPod, and I miss Nintendo handhelds. I'm so disappointed in the lack of variety in game choices available on the I-devices. Most of the games are either poorly-made shovelware, or crappy spinoffs of fully-featured "normal" games (Dead Space, Assassin's Creed, etc.).

At least the DS has Nintendo's own 1st-party games to make up for this.

Apple desperately needs to enforce some quality control on their App Store. It's too hard to wade thru the shovelware to find the truly good games, which are too few and far between. I will never take the iPod seriously as a gaming device. I think Apple should start making their own games, but that probably will never happen.

*sigh*

I had no idea that gamestop manufactured the DS lite. Good thing they didn't give up on the PSP GO in America.

Dave, how about some basic level of fact checking for headlines?

DS Phat can play Crysis? Bet 3DS couldn't.

Phat > 3DS...

Are you guys really that stupid? Unless those three colors are the only ones in production (which I'm pretty damn sure is not the case), only THOSE colors are discontinued, not the DS lite as a whole. See, three part numbers, three colors... Do the math...

If I remember correctly those are probably the last three skus left of the DS. White, black, and the original pink died long ago. All we ever got when I worked at Gamestop was silver, crimson, cobalt, and metallic rose. If Gamestop is killing the DS lite then its days are numbered.

The iPhone in my book has replaced my DS Lite. Even the older 3GS which I have is more powerful gaming wise than a DS Lite plus it's a mini-computer in addition to a phone.

Remember when Gamestop used to sell nearly every single game system, even old ones? Pepperidge Farm does.
