'Hydrophobia Prophecy' pops up in Australian game rating
10
Last we heard from Hydrophobia and the game's developer, Dark Energy Digital, the studio was doing its best to respond to fans' criticisms of the first, not-so-warmly received installment. The plan all along, however, has been a Hydrophobia trilogy, which likely explains why a listing for something called "Hydrophobia Prophecy" has popped up on the Australian Government's classification website.
Outside of noting Dark Energy Digital as the "author" and Microsoft Game Studios as the publisher, the listing provides little other information. Though it does confirm some important basics, like acknowledging that Prophecy is a video game and not, say, a line of Hydrophobia-branded sunglasses. We've reached out to Dark Energy Digital, but we're not exactly holding our breath for confirmation.

I don't think I'm willing to buy a game that the developer won't admit is flawed.

Enh? I seem to recall the devs quite honestly acknowledging that it was flawed and went so far as to release an update so major that they added the word "Pure" to the title to differentiate it from the crap they initially released.

I got the updated version on sale at $5 and enjoyed it enough that I would have easily felt I'd gotten my money's worth had I paid $10.

I wasn't wild about it when it first came out but when they updated it to Hydrophobia Pure I actually thought the game was pretty good. I'm glad this sounds like the sequel is still coming.
I mean any developer who puts in real effort to improve their game based on feedback deserves a second chance, in my opinion.

I got this game after the update and with a half price, and I liked it a lot, is more close to an Uncharted game, but with way less shooting scenes...

I enjoyed the first, but I hope the voice acting doesn't suck this time around.

I got Pure when it went on the DOTW sale for 400 points. Nice old style (as in PS2-like) action adventure. The ending was really abrupt, so I'm looking forward to this. Hopefully they will work on the framerate and aiming controls some more.

I bought Hydrophobia after the update and despite their changes, I still think it's terrible. The control just feels so off, like she has no weight, plus the voice acting is horrendous.
