Why do fire spirits have breasts? Are they mammals? Do they feed fire-milk to their young?

Personally, I'd be a little creeped out if all spirits looked like Gozer.

If co-optimus is right and guests don't play as their own character (similar to the awful system in Fable 2) Then I'll pass.

@Jenks This is exactly why I canceled my pre-order on this game. Horrible design decision.

They had me until the "exclusive preorder bonus at GameStop". I'm freaking done with that, industry. It was cute at first, maybe a little fun, but now I'm done. Count me out for any day one purchases going forward if you keep insisting on making me choose retailers based not on how they treat me as a customer, but which one paid the most to secure the best preorder promotion.

"Power to the Players" indeed.

@onan

You really don't need to get all up in arms against that marketing technique.

The pre-order bonuses are NEVER critical to success in the game, it's just as easy to play with or without them. The only party who stands to gain in the transaction is YOU, because while you may not be able to have all 3-4 retailers "pre-order bonuses," you do get to choose what you want.

Since you were buying the game anyway, and it isn't any extra to get the bonus, who really cares?

@x4str0m3ch It's mostly the idea of "If I want it on day one, there's a good chance I want everything". It's why Collector's Editions exist. Retailer specific bonuses make it unnecessarily difficult for completionists at best, and force people to make uninformed decisions that they'll regret later at worst. (Like, how was I supposed to know that the Inferno Armor would be useless because they chucked charisma as a stat in ME2? Why would I want a gun, they were mostly omnigel fodder in the first one?)

There's simply no way to feel good about your purchase. Even before you put your hands on the game, you know there's something you're missing out on. That's frustrating when you're willing to put out $60+ for these things. Maybe it's just me, but I highly doubt it.

I don't think much about Dungeon Siege. But -every- time I see one of these previews, I want to own the game.
