Are those just early unlocks? All the mentionned items are in-game?

Those items are all ingame. Riot mod for the pulse gun is just wider spread after you release its charge up. Concussion det packs are self explained.

Emp rounds for pulse cannon drain jet energy, obscure visor, damage shields more and can temporarily disable autoaim.

Tagger sniper rounds are emp rounds for the sniper rifle and add them to the radar longer.

Blitz armor, my memory is foggy but I think it increases overdrive duration and collision damage. I might've mixed it up with energized weave.

I ain't kidding when I say I took the time to learn this game.

Thanks!

Since all these are just early unlocks, I might just pick it up on Steam.

I now remember the proper Blitz armor. I did mix it up. Blitz armor is otherwise a DLC armor/color design for $3. Black for S8, Red for Arm.

And yet no news about having an option for people that want to play without autoaim and its counter system? What is there to lose to have both types of servers existing so people have a choice in playing?

And the poor sound design from the beta returns in the release thanks to some 360 video reviews.

My reconsideration of considering this purchase is dropping fast again.

Huh? I'll spell it out since I'm bored. There are people that don't like the brief autoaim/lock on, whatever you want to call it in the PC version. They like the game, and would gladly buy it if they had an option to play without autoaim. It's called having a choice. The official forums community and developers refuse to give players a choice. People that don't like the lack of choice do not buy the game.

I hope that clarifies it.

@BlackSky101 Dude I've not seen 1 person who's said they won't buy the game solely because of the autoaim. It's a part of the game and lasts literally like 1 second, also has a long recharge time.

It's an element you have to offset. By increasing your stealth modifier, destroying sensor arrays or popping down a jammer you'll be impossible to lock-on. It's strategic. The game has a ton of smart balanced mechanics.

to be more specific: there are people who have never played the game and have no idea how the auto aim works and effects game play, yet still piss and moan like it's game breaking ....

all you get is a burst of auto target tracking and outside of rocket sniping a tank from max range, it's not all that useful. it's a nice tide turner if your down on health and an enemy gets cocky enough to try to rush from their cover to finish you off, but the rest of the time your likely to spend most of the duration pumping rounds into the wall your target just ducked behind.

And that attitude shown in the last 2 replies is exactly it. You guys, and what is left of the established community, do not respect any other people's dislike for autoaim even when I and them are well aware of how it works and how it can be countered. As long as it is in the game, it is capable of being saved to make difficult killshots much easier, and there are people that don't like this strategic tool.

Case in point, the sniper rifle which almost kills anyone in 2 hits, with variances based on user and enemy loadout. The sniper rifle in this game, once zoomed, requires waiting for the crosshairs to tighten to be more accurate and land on distant targets that are tiny on screen.

If the target is already scanned and on your sensor net, you can immediately aim down sights, push "c" for lock on, then fire your autoaim sniper round, and it will hit, all in 1/3-1/2 of a sec. You did not have to wait for the crosshairs to tighten. Same applies if your target is using his jets and trying to be evasive on the offense or overdriving away from the fight. Saving autoaim makes for easy kills in many situations.

Stealth modules won't save the evasive guy on offense and in the air because stealth only decreases the autoaim time used against him. The sniper rifle can only fire 1 shot per autoaim use, and it easily has the time to do so against targets with 4+ stealth modules. The jammer beacon does not protect you if you are too far away from it, and that includes jetting in the air. Stealth modules are mainly effective against rapid fire autoaim, the assault rifle and machine gun, which need TIME to do damage.

So technically, what you're saying is... goddamn snipers for sniping? Are you one of those folks that think Snipers need to have 3 or 4 shots to kill? That all sniper rifle users are cowards and everyone under the sun needs to just use Assault Rifles? Oi. Just go back to playing Call of Duty. I'm tired of people crying about how unfair snipers that can snipe are.

As for these offers... yeeeeah... no. I'll wait for Brink to come out.

I was describing situations of when people use the autoaim. Sniping just happens to be the most common way to get the most out of the autoaim feature.

Only a few people, who are not diehards or overly supportive of S8P, will take the time to consider the other scenario of playing the game without autoaim and lock on at all. A scenario where players have to make every shot count and have no strategic aiming tool to help them make any situation easier by any tiny margin.

I am fine with a choice. Have servers that allow people to play without autoaim and all its counter mechanics, and have another set of servers for the established community that loves playing with said mechanics.

So far, the established community and developers, has made it vocally clear, no alternatives or compromises are acceptable because the game is designed to have autoaim as a brief, limited, strategic tool.

I get what you're saying, every one millionth time I see you saying it, but if you don't like it, don't play that game, frankly.

Everywhere I click where Section 8: Prejudice is mentioned or has an article, there you are, BlackSky101, bitching and moaning. Give a rest, please. Your personal vendetta isn't going to work and obviously it isn't getting TimeGate's attention.

@InkSix

You describe my actions as a personal vendetta, but that's where you are wrong. What I am working for is a movement to convince the developers to create an alternative server type. Because, asking nicely...
has completely, and utterly failed the first 5 times, with at least 30-40 other people back in the first S8 beta, when it mattered and could be EASILY done. It is really a simple .ini file variable.

With more people saying the classic "You don't like it, don't buy it," routine, you are telling others that are hopeful this game has a chance to have alternate servers coexisting together... there is no alternative.

If I didn't like a good chunk of this game, I wouldn't be doing any of this. Timegate has everything to gain by satisfying people who don't like the autoaim, but like the rest. If telling you this still hasn't convinced you of my intentions, then there is in fact no compromise again.

I am trying to be sincere in this reply, and I truly hope it was not wasted.

@BlackSky101 Does this game have a server tool so people can run their own or is it company only? If it's company only then for sure your cause is doomed because your asking them to up their monthly server bill to satisfy a vocal minority of people who want to play their game in a different way than they built.

Godspeed an all but I doubt you can win them over.

@yomachaser

The first PC game requires you (clients) to buy a separate copy for setting up a dedicated server, and yes you can turn off autoaim in it, change gravity, and little other things. Server providers tried to rent out servers, but due to numerous problems with GFWL (they eventually negotiated for free copies to set up servers), providers cancelled and refunded clans and clients. 2 clans ran private servers under special environments which other providers could not afford to do.

With Prejudice, providers have already announced they can properly rent out servers this time and be whitelisted for ranks. The possibility for autoaim off or on and for both to be ranked is there. That's why I'm fighting for this while there is still time. Timegate will then gain an even larger playerbase if it works and not be a dead game like before.

Well dont buy it then there your problem is solved. If you think people are going to not buy it because you complain about a feature that isnt gamebreaking but just something you dislike your fooling yourself.
